Good morning Ally, goldenthreads! Yes, do tell, BetsyMarie! Ally, I would have saved the window trim, also. Yum turkey. I like to do one just like that this time of year, you're triggering me. Hickory nuts. Sweep where you park your car. spread an ancient disposable bed sheet, spread nuts, drive over them. Throw the nuts to the hens. In measured amounts. Don't want to give them the poops. I'm thinking the oil would make the eggs really rich. That's just me. Or, you know, a hammer will work, too. Earlier this week, I had washed/dried/put jeans & PJs loads, and had a leftover load of wet good white tops cats wanted out late last night, and still aren't back. Lil beasts. TaDa dried/hung/folded wet dryer, still need to put away the hanging finished emptying the DW loaded, running purged 2 old food pans from fridge I only got this Dw a couple of weeks ago. I need to get in the habit of keeping the dirties IN the DW. K will look so much better & be more conducive to meal prep.

Good morning, mouseanne. I wish I had a story to tell. Or maybe not. Ally said: DH hoards some things, but not the same things I do. Totally understand. When I shopped yard sales, if I had a lot of 'female' appealing things, I'd ask the man for a price. And visa-versa. I'd usually get lower prices from the gender that did not value the items. Goldenthreads said: The turkey production sounds tempting. I used to do this, too. Me too. I really like turkey and leftovers and making broth, etc. I started with maintaining tasks this morning just to get going: -scooped and topped litter boxes -refilled water bottles -relocated some stored goods into better, now free areas. -distributed 4 new, small, pretty waste baskets around the house for easier disposal of little bits of trash. todo: -look in back linen closet to see what space is now available -5 min declutter in back room. -quick clean fridge

I ended up working in the closet of the backest of the rooms. Lots that needs pitching/organizing. -got rid of long-expired cans of soup, and the panini maker I never, ever, ever use. -cleared closet shelf -moved packed holiday ornaments to the out-of-the-way back close shelf. -dropped one box, broke one lesser glass ornament... and vacuumed immediately. Good work is being done, and now it's tea-time. Todo: -work on the floor of backest room -more consolidation on shelves in backest toom (typo - it's not really a tomb ) -clear surfaces in backest of rooms. There is a lot of good space in there for legitimate storage - once much of it gets freed.

Hell WITers It's good to see you all here today!
ta-da: Called in to CLA meeting, but honestly, I was distracted much of the time, so didn't get much from it. Prepared rolls. and baked after turkey was done. Went out to run some errands. Dropped off some eggs for a neighbor, then went out to a local antique shop that sells a lot of odds and ends. I specifically wanted a quart sized, large-mouth mason jar. Local stores sell new ones by the dozen, but I just wanted one. They had dozens of regular-mouth mason jars at this shop, but not anything exactly like I wanted. I found a two-quart sized jar that should work. Started to cut up turkey and chopped up a cabbage.
to-do: Finish prepping turkey for next steps... cut it up, etc. Empty dishwasher... I ran another load of dishes this morning. Laundry? It already seems to be getting dark... where did the day go?

I also just spent about 3 hours on my feet!! I got a lot done in the back-est room. I had decided that since it was not a priority room, I would only spend the rest of today in there and move on. I can always circle back later in the month for more sorting. It is by no means 'complete', but it is certainly more functional. I'll also vacuum in there later today. I did find 2 bottles of champagne too. Maybe later. I thought there might be one. Neither high quality, but drinkable.
done: -sorting and condensing things -tossing and recycling -sweeping larger bits of debris.
I'm very pleased. I got more done in there the past couple days than I thought I would.
todo: -vacuum in the back-est room -maybe take a few old frames apart and toss. No glass. No one wants them. -maybe work more in the dining room.

BetsyMarie, you're making great progress! ta-da: Turkey meat is cut up and divided between 6 3-cup containers. Carcass is in pressure cooker Gave finicky cat a tiny piece of turkey liver, she liked it. It's probably something that's bad for her, 'cause she's eating it. Gave her her meds, put chickens in for the night Cleaned up most of the mess in the kitchen Moved laundry to dryer, then put most of it away. to-do: I'm pretty much done for the day. Will strain turkey broth and let it separate... I need to find a space for it in the fridge. Yikes!

Yes, Ally, I am making great progress today. I'm hoping to do the same tomorrow. I'm also thinking about cooking a turkey this year. Much as you do, I used to take the leftover meat, put it in several freezer containers, then cover with ample turkey broth, and freeze it. So easy to make a great soup from that with whatever else is available. Really yummy. And so easy once all the work up-front is done.
done this afternoon: -vacuumed to 'good enough' in the backest room. -removed trash and recy from that room -looked at old frames in other backroom to see what needs doing.
todo, probably tomorrow: -breakdown and toss some old picture frames -go through a couple misc boxes in backroom 3 -cover and find a better place for rolls of paper in backroom 3

Hi all, new day here. Sun's coming up, but it's a bit crispy outside. Glad to hear your critters returned, mouseanne . That is always a worry. Done: -lights out and one window open. -went in back room 3 to look around to see what lies ahead today -hot cocoa made. todo: -bring trash can to the front door -take out recycling -head into backroom 3, and let the games begin. The change in environment in the house is mildly alarming the cats, but they'll get used to it.
