Good morning womble and everyone!
Thanks for starting us off, lennon.
Winter has arrived, it's 26 degrees and feels like 14 degrees at the moment.
So, a few days ago I reported that I went downstairs an hour early at night and got into bed and read for an hour before letting the dog out. She panted for the whole hour but then when we came in she went right to sleep. Well, I have done that for four days now and the result is the same--no more panting late at night. So, I will keep doing it as long as it works--usually things don't work for very long but I will keep at it. My sleep has been so much better.
Today I'm going to start on my personal Christmas cards since so many of them go to people I don't talk to often so I include a little letter in each one, they take a long time and I would like to have them ready to mail in a week or so. The mail delivery has been so slow lately that I want to mail everything early this year.
And as usual, plant care.
Diane

Hi Everyone! Thanks for starting the week off lennon ! Today I need to start bringing in and unpacking the boxes of the stuff I ordered on Black Friday/Early Digital Monday. More stuff is coming next weekend. I think I went a bit overboard but I did get some of my Christmas shopping done for others and the kitties and I are set for Christmas. I am going to start using the what to do if you are paralyzed and can’t seem to get going post recommendations (I will post link later to that discussion). On a lot of things in the house, I just feel overwhelmed and cant even seem to get started with baby steps or i do a baby step and then freeze up. This is going to be a long week for me as there is a lot of (on all fronts) year end rush. I was somewhere here. Not sure where. Seems like it was not listzilla. Someone posted about how they accomplish the task against extreme mental resistance. It went something like: I can't do all that. No way. It's too much. Let's say it was dishes (it wasnt). Too much dishes to wash. I'm not doing it. I'll bring glasses from the living room, but I'm not doing dishes. I'll empty the drainer & put water in the dishpan, but I'm not doing dishes. There's water in the dishpan. I'll put glasses in. I'm not doing dishes. I'm not doing dishes, but I can wipe & rinse the glasses. Still water in dishpan. I'll put this stack of plates & flatware in, then I can cook on that burner, but I'm not doing dishes. Cook. Those are soaked enough for a quick wipe. Does that, but I'm not doing dishes. pretty soon the dishes were done. It could have been in introductions, but I'm not there much, it could have been several other places. It could have been a blog, but I don't read those often. I thought it was say, since May. I thought it might have been Unswamping or mylittlescholar. They were talking to a newbie. I thought I commented on how helpful the explanation was. I've searched my own posts & these two members back to May & cannot find it. It could have been a new person's thread & then they had it deleted, because I can find nothing. If you see this, and it was your explanation, would you post it again here? Thank you!!

TML, that's baby steps! Saying you don't have to do the whole job is the whole point of baby steps!
Sometimes once you get started you can keep going. Sometimes you can't, and that's okay, because even if you can only do one step at a time the job will still get done, it just takes longer.
Next:
Feed dog and see if she wants to go out 10 minutes on first floor Open Chewy order and put away 10 minutes refilling pet food containers

Happy Monday! thanks lennon for the thread and hello Diane and TMLI just got back from taking DD back to school! I am tired from the drive and miss her but I am so glad she stayed a bit extra (she was initially going back Sunday) and the weather was good for the trip both ways. I am working from home which is nice as I am also demoralized about the dark stuff underway there. Talked with Chaos, she is as well, she needs to tell her boss. ugh ugh ugh. it is above my paygrade, i have to keep that in mind i just hope my team lands ok. I pretty much cleaned up from the weekend. I ended up going out with about a dozen former classmates the Friday after Thanksgiving which was fun but they are almost all retired or soon to retire so I was feeling a teensy bit of jealousy!! I also went to the mall that day with DD who just thrives in a mall setting unlike her mother! Saturday I prepped for my dinner gathering. it was successful. Sunday I finished the clean up, watched the game, did not get to church as at that point I was still planning to take DD back. We also went to our park and took a Christmas photo with puppy, then a quick walk. So we ended up having a nice last day at home though she was off at the mall again for part of it! Today I need to do work work, and take puppy for a walk and I think that is all that I am going to commit too ...as well as clean litter and do the dishes. dinner will be leftovers. I am truly deeply tired from the business of the last week and all the family drama. It did not really resolve except to recognize that certain relatives have pretty much cut us off out of disinterest. I know that it will happen again for Christmas, so I am hoping to go in eyes wide open. danny15 I loved reading about all of your decorations and your sweet DD! she sounds like such a blessing. Have a good day!!

Hello bree!
Well, I am copying TML in that I took advantage of a CyberMonday deal, I'm buying a new printer. I'm going to try the one with the "ecotank", which should save me a lot of money--the cost of the ink cartidges for my current printer are astronomical and I'm tired of paying more for cartridges than I did the printer. There also is a problem with it when it prints in color which thankfully, I don't do very often, but when I need color I need it. Hopefully I will be able to figure this new one out and will be happy with it.
Now I'm stressed out from doing the research on it (which always confuses me) and spending the money although I bought the lowest-cost model which doesn't have a fax--I don't need to fax anything, ever, there is always another alternative.
Stopping for lunch, finally.
Diane

DS is officially moved out. He slept on his sofa friday night and moved his mattress and box spring out on saturday. He left a mess in his wake - and I am responsible for a good chunk of it. I have so many boxes of stuff in the way and things got shoved around. I am going to use his old room as a closet to give me a chance to go through things.
I moved his old dresser (he took the guest room bedroom set) and put it right inside the door. On the far-right wall I will have two metal clothing racks running the length of the wall and a comfortable chair/lamp by the window in the far corner. That will be my hiding spot to sit and read and be able to work. I will have plants in front of the window on the wall opposite the doorway. right now there is so much stuff in the middle of the room. There is so much laundry to do, blankets and his old sheets. Plus some clothes that were found as he cleared out. I am finding random shoes and so much stuff. I have filled a bag with bottles and another with random trash. there are always numerous coins on the floor. I have matched up gloves and found winter hats. Once I clear off the table in the middle of the room, I will be able to nicely fold my clothes. Right now they are just shoved in the drawers. And the socks - I am finding all of the missing socks. I will wash and match up as many as I can.
I think the sink that the washer drains into has a slight clog or is backing up. I am not able to do numerous successive loads. If I do too many, the wash is still soaking wet when I pull it out of the washer and often there is water on the floor. I have the drain hose draining into the slop sink. I have the leg of a stocking attached to the end of the hose to collect the lint type stuff. Some times that falls into the sink and blocks the drain hole and the water backs up. I just need to get into the corner and check it out. If I do one load in the am and one in the pm I should be OK
Opps - I just realized I need to make sure I have an outfit ready for tomorrow. The guest room, where most of my clothes are, is a royal mess.
And my phone has some kind of virus. I have been plugging along with it but now the phone is having problems charging. I almost could not log into work this morning - but I was fortunately able to. So once my work day is done I am heading to the phone store. Last year DH bought a new phone then lost it so he had to get a replacement. Well I found the lost phone - it had fallen into the snow and once the snow melted, the phone appeared. That was a true testament to the phone case. it kept the phone dry. It also gave us a spare for an emergency, like today!
OK - I am trying to solve an IT/System issue. I had better get back at it

Ohblondie, how nice to have a whole room to work in. Okay--when you retire, will you be able to get rid of a lot of work clothes? Or are you a clothes lover whether you have to dress up for work or not, so will want to keep all of them? I'm glad you are planning a reading corner!
