bree-hope your back gets better soon ! Good work on the papers. When you have to clean up paper shreds, you have accomplished things !! MLS--I would love to see your dolls all dressed up for the holidays. Hope you are feeling more rested. ohblondie--A shame you have Covid. Hoping you improve more real soon !!! Diane---I remember from my dog days about the mud. We used to wipe paws when Janet dog came in and she would act guilty, but she couldn't help it !! I went out of town today to visit my extended family and they are children and grands and great grands of my deceased DB and DSIL. Aside from the scary drive down, we had a lovely day, DD and I. It was wonderful to see the dear faces and enjoy the youngsters. The trip home was far easier. We went early and left early so DD would not have to drive in the dark in unfamiliar territory. But we had several hours with them and enjoyed every minute. I did get the daily stuff done before we left and a shower and hair wash. The house was pretty good when we left and looks like something blew up in it now, with presents, etc. all around . My laundry is backed up some , etc. and rugs have scratch pad shreds from kitties in abundance. it will get done when it gets done, . I guess I will go to Mass in the morning with Carolyn. My best to all of my dear friends here. catcats

Good morning everyone! I had decent sleep and feel good, so I have high hopes for today.
I never did get the dog's meds, so now I'll have to wait until Tuesday when things open back up and call the pharmacy again to see if they really are on the way. If not, I'll have to call the vet and see if they'll give me a week's supply to get me through until the mail order comes. I have enough through Tuesday so if I can go to the vet's on Wednesday morning and pick up more I'll be okay. Of course, now I'm worried that I'll miss the furnace guy if I go anywhere, but that can't be helped when he can't set up an actual appointment.
But Tuesday is 2 days away so I will concentrate on today and tomorrow.
I fed and medicated the dog but she hasn't gone out, so I will eat breakfast and then I have a little game worked out of alternating a computer game with working on various things, and I will try that for an hour and see if it inspires me to work. It involves 2/3 of the time sitting so it won't be hard on my aches and pains, and will give me holiday weekend computer game time.
I would like to spread some more mulch around the yard today too. It occurred to me that if the mulch is still very present in the spring I can always just set the lawn mower higher to avoid hitting it, so I'm no longer worried about it.

Yesterday Slept late. DH & I ate lunch out. Spent the afternoon with DS & Fam. Went on long walk at park around a lake. So much fun with DGS (who spent almost the entire time wanting to be with me & hold my hand). Ran into a couple old friends while on our walk. It was so great seeing & speaking with them. Later, we ate out, again. This time with DS & Fam. 9,320 steps DH not feeling well last night.

Good morning cando and scholar!
I did my first hour of my game and it was fun, not like working at all. I'm going to stop now and call my decluttering client.
Bree, have a good evening with your DD, I am thinking about goals too!
Catcats, I'm glad you got to spend time with your extended family. Don't worry about the Christmas mess, there will be time to put everything away.
We used to wipe paws when Janet dog came in and she would act guilty,
My dog doesn't look guilty, she just looks annoyed when I clean her paws. Because of her weak back legs I have to kind of prop her against me when I pick up a front leg to clean, and I try to do the back paws slowly because I don't know if it hurts to move her legs. So I really need to get more mulch down so that neither of us has the aggravation of constantly cleaning paws.

Hi all, I woke up late today but well rested so I've been buzzing around for the last hour and a bit. It was always a big tradition in my family that you start the New Year the way you wanted it to continue, and for my mum, that meant all laundry in the whole house had to be done and everything had to be cleaned, everyone had to be bathed and in clean clothes, with a full glass ready for midnight. I used to dread New Year's Eve as a result as she'd go a bit crazy about it! Still, some of the superstition has rubbed off, so I've got the house back to guest ready even though it's just the two of us at home tonight. Going to phone her shortly and I know she'll be proud of me for following in her footsteps! I may well post again later, but if I don't, I'll take this opportunity to wish you all Happy New Year for when it arrives, and all the best for a happy, healthy, productive 2024! Done: Changed towels kitchen Cleared air dryer Folded and bagged laundry Cleared air dryer 2 Folded and bagged laundry 2 Clean laundry 1 taken upstairs PUPA living room Remaining gifts allocated a place or taken up to spare room for further sorting Achieved coffee table zero Wiped down coffee table All recycling from dining table (old plastic and glass stuff) put into bins or taken directly outside Items to donate put in dishwasher Stacked and ran dishwasher Achieved dining table zero Wiped down dining table Wiped down bathroom sink Load of laundry Achieved floor clothes zero Achieved laundry zero To do: Laundry from machine to dryer Load of laundry 2 Laundry from machine to dryer 2

Reve, we never had a tradition to start the new year with a clean house, but it's a good one! I thought yesterday that it would be nice to start out uncluttered tomorrow.
After my call with my decluttering client, I took the dog out and I did some PEEPing on the 1st floor. Now it's time to feed the dog and then I will do another hour of my game.
I forgot to mention that it is snowing! Very lightly though, and it's not supposed to stick.

I did some PEEPing downstairs again, there are just a few things in the kitchen that are making it look cluttered--dishes in the sink and some spider plants that I don't have room for anywhere...they were on the enclosed front porch so I brought them in so they wouldn't die in the cold but I don't know where to put them. Two are potted and then I have 3 containers of babies rooting--I just can't make myself throw the babies away when they are a potential plant...I had planned to clean off the DR plant table this month and if I do that there will be room for them there but of course, I haven't done it yet.
Upstairs I'm working on washing dishes, and the only other cluttery thing is the Christmas card sorting project, which I could cheat on and pack in a small bin until I can sort them. I really want to be decluttered by tonight.

Done: Changed towels middle bathroom Sprayed down shower Cleaned wall panels Laundry from machine to dryer Load of laundry 2 Quick PEEPing in the spare room, focusing on clearing surfaces and access so I can go through the Christmas stuff at a later time and put obvious things in obvious places.
Noticed some of the beef in the fridge was starting to go off, so boyfriend has put on a slowcooker chilli at the same time as making dinner, so we'll also be starting the new year with some pre-prepared meals ready to go in the freezer for days where we can't face cooking. Even changed after showering and put what I was wearing in with that last load of laundry to make sure everything is properly clean! Ideally, before midnight, I'd like to empty the dishwasher and restack it.
