36 1 magazine (2021) donated to the lobby 37 Couldn't completely let go without first emailing myself the link to a keeper article, posted below. It's novelist Ann Patchett's extraordinary journey through a massive decluttering of her entire home. And as you may expect from a writer of her caliber, the narrative is compelling. www.newyorker.com/magazine/2021/03/08/how-to-practice

papermoon thank you for posting a link to the article about the lady, author(?), who went thru her home. I enjoyed reading it & I could so relate to it. I know when I do that type of clean out that I will be living similar situations. My passion might not be writing—so obviously I won’t have the same typewriter issue even tho I can’t remember if my DH & I got rid of the old typewriters we had when we had to move nearly everything out of my home when we had all our floors replaced last year due to water leak after broken pipes… they may still be lurking somewhere or in the POD th as t is still in our driveway. However, there are lots of other things that will come up that will be difficult like from my athlete days. And the gifts that I kept for many many years excitedly kept for future events, parties, etc that over 40 years we rarely or never had. I will be going thru similarly to her. Thank you! And, great job by the way…….. Cd

mylittlescholar yes, I can’t keep a separate count of my DH’s items. I combine with mine as he is challenged like me when it comes to getting rid of stuff. Also, I see us as a team. We are as if we are “one “. (One entity? ) So, I count all as one count. Anything out of our home is wonderful. All counts for us… Do anything you can that will create less anxiety or stress is the way I see it. . Btw, you & him are awesome! Keep up the great work! Luv, CD
