Last section of garage is finished ~ where we store cat litter and boxes, clean the boxes, wash them and refill. Area is swept. Some old leftovers set by garage door to leave out for fox tonight.
Sun is back out so I put out some bird seed on the deck rails for the tiny ones. Next up ~ work on some vitamins and supplements.

Vitamins, supplements, meds (people and animals) checked, organized, only having to toss one bottle of expired B-Complex. The back-up is good thru 2024. I need to get a refill on Josie's meds (kitty with congestion problems) tomorrow.
Not having the garage hanging over my head seems to have given me more energy. I am so happy to have that finished!!

Danny, that is excellent that finishing the garage has given you more energy--that's exactly how I feel when I achieve decluttered status--like, now I'm free to do other things without the guilt of knowing I have messes to clean up! Goes to show how much of our issues are psychological, not just physical.
My electric bill went up by 20% from the month before. I thought maybe the actual electricity cost went up, but no, it's my usage--the only thing different is the furnace--could the furnace use that much electricity? We were also supposed to get a new account number for 2024 but I compared numbers and it's still the same. I have to change it for my bank to send the payment, I hope they give us plenty of warning so I can change the number.
I'm going to stop for lunch and a movie break.

Sunday! cando puppy is a black lab. She just loves the snow and the cold and the wet and leaps and jumps! I am worried about the ice when I walk her on a day like today. I will drive us to town area with lots of area to walk and be on the snow which is not deep here and which is more secure. she is just the epitome of love and joy! Boycat is bored because he is stuck in; the outside weather is too much for him. Girlcat is in deep sleep on a blue fuzzy blanket. puppy is at my feet! I had a fun morning. I had asked DD if she would attend church with me while she was home so she came today. we went to new church versus my regular church. New church is a nice church, pretty big (not a mega church) and very friendly but when I go alone I feel very alone, as opposed to my regular church. So with DD in tow off we went. After that we went to our favorite place in the city for brunch; I have brought DD there since she was a toddler. Then to the mall and I actually bought myself some perfume and socks. I never buy myself anything! now we are home. it is sunny but very cold and windy here. in the low 20s/ cando it sounds really cold where you are and you are in the south right? brr! I never hear people talk about freezing pipes where I live even though i am in the NE. not sure why no one's pipes seem to freeze here as we have very cold weather. I now have to work work, ugh, I have about three hours of work to do! I will work for about an hour then take puppy for a cold walk because I want to get her walk done before sunset. danny15 congrats on your garage! Diane I hope your pup doesn't get too cold, sounds crazy cold where you are.

I grew up in a cold place where freezing pipes weren't discussed and later lived in the Deep South where on the rare very cold days they'd give us guidance to prevent freezing pipes. I believe someone told me that pipes don't get buried as deeply in places with gentler winters. Does that sound right, cando ?

Busy day today Went to my mom's and we packed up the manger, put out some valentines day gnomes and I finally got her old headboard out. DH and I took the manger and headboard to storage. I got pictures of the head and footboard together to sell. We went to the house and started collapsing old boxes and setting donate stuff aside DS's GF will take the metal garbage cans for storing animal feed I went back and got my mom and we visited my dad. of course there was a snow squall when i drove her over and it kicked up when i drove her home.
i am home now. i just sat and relaxed for a bit and now i am going to do dishes and wash my dad's clothes. and clean out the fridge a bit. though it is so comfy and warm with Callie snuggled right up against me

It's almost time for me to feed the dog and take her out again, I think it's the warmest part of the day--it's minus 4 with a "feels like" of minus 25. Hopefully she will do what she needs to do and hurry back in.

I cleaned out the bottom of the pantry. Wasn't planned but I was doing a quick straightening and figured may as well hit that too. Usually I wash the floor as long as everything is out but I am trying to not be such an all or nothing perfectionist about getting things done. Sadly there was a lot of oatmeal that was too far past the Best Use By date. Now of course I really want some oatmeal but I will not buy any until we finish the other cereals. We've been eating lots of leftovers. And we are just as happy with toast and peanut butter or melted cheese on crackers for a meal.

The dog didn't want to go out, which means our timing is off. It would be great if she could wait until 8 but I don't think she will.

good afternoon, everypony! on all the progress!!!
oh gosh, here I am feeling almost sorry for myself in this cold house! it is 61*F/16*C outside. Our power company is passing on the cost of the lawsuits they lost for not doing upkeep that caused the horrible fires in '17 and '18, so the bill went way up and I am keeping the thermostat around 63*F inside. (59 at night).
I haven't done much on the list I made yesterday. DVD's blood sugar has been too low--probably because we are eating better and he needs to lower the dose of his meds. But this means I'm spending time feeding him, one way or the other.
I'm missing a couple sources of dopamine myself--I'm out of my ADHD med, and cutting back on sugar. So yeah.
DVD bought me a mug that says: How beautiful it is to do NOTHING and then rest afterwards.
THE LIST: dishes duds dinner art homework yoga
label the rest of the holiday boxes plan attic reorganization--got started on this find home for train table
move dollhouse to hearth
bring couch back into LR
bring boxes up to attic as they are blocking the path make menu plan make shopping list (type up two shopping list templates?)
go shopping

Ohblondie, snuggling with the dog is the absolute best way to spend a weekend.
Scholar, your house is colder than mine! I was keeping mine at 68 or 69, last night the furnace turned on so often it scared me so I turned it to 67 until morning. I don't want to turn it any lower because of the birds, but I, also, would not like it any colder than that, at least during the day.
The dog did want to go out at 5:30, she barely made it half way across the yard when she started sort of falling down to her stomach--I think she was trying to pick her feet up off the cold snow but her balance is bad now. I don't have any dog boots. She did manage to do everything and I had to help her back to the porch, once she got onto the steps she was okay. I'm not going to take her out at 8--I'm afraid it would be more trauma for nothing--she's not going to go again 2.5 hours later. Last time I tried this she had a panting session again, but I think that might be better than freezing her feet for no reason. If she has to go out in the middle of the night we'll go--at least when she really has to go she goes out willingly and does what she needs to do quickly instead of wandering around the yard.
It's time for me to check all the faucets. I turned off 3 out of 4 since I kept using them during the day but now I will put them back on a fast drip.
Good night everyone, see you tomorrow in the weekday thread!
Diane
