Well I've managed to do a few more sessions this past week, mostly outside in the junk piles since it's been warmer and sunny. Have the 3 yr old again so probably not much going to happen today, we'll see. I have been doing fairly good at keeping the milking equipment and daily dishes washed up aside from pots and pans; for some reason I never seem to get to those in a timely fashion. I have managed to keep the path through the LR from getting narrowed again so that's a tiny bit of progress. Just seems I can't go fast enough....

Tomorrow is trash day and I have 2 large black trash bags, filled with junk, ready to go out, (in addition to my normal bag of kitchen/household trash). Yay me!!! I also have added to a box of old books that I plan to donate to a place that resells or recycles them. I have shredded enough paper to fill my shredder each day over the past week.
One more week to go this month!
I was thinking of rewarding myself with a trip to a quilt show, and possibly taking a class while there, but I want to keep going with this challenge until the show in April, and don't want to reward myself too soon. Some of the classes are already sold out so this has me nervous, but I think I'll wait. Quite honestly, I don't really need to start any more new projects right now! I'll be good.

Ally, sometimes when people start clearing out hoards, they find things they don't even remember that they have, so it's like shopping for new things! Maybe you'll find some craft things that you started, or that you meant to start, and it will be like having a new project without having to spend money and buy more supplies?
I was supposed to post yesterday so this is one day late. This week I did well at the baseline attempt but it derailed the last few days. I potted up the second and last batch of hylocereus cuttings, that makes 8 total, so that project is finished. I did 40 more minutes on Christmas card organizing so that's done too--although in typical fashion, I can't find the lid to the large storage bin that I keep the cards in. I have looked everywhere--how could I lose a large bin top? If I can't find it I'll figure out another way to seal it so the cards don't get dusty, but I can't believe I misplaced something that large. And, I had done 10 minutes on the LR plant table project but had to un-do it--I will work on that again in the next couple of days so I can get the light set up by the 25th.
I finished the book I was reading from the book box, it's Start Without Me by Joshua Max Feldman. This is not the kind of book I'm usually drawn to, about two young people trying to figure out life problems, but there was something about the writing that kept me reading and I ended up enjoying it. I'm about a quarter of the way through the next book.
This coming week I'll concentrate on the Password project because I really, really need to do that one. I waste so much time looking through my sheaf of messy papers looking for passwords.
1-Get back to baseline every day - Did well the first half of the week
2-Clean underneath upstairs kitchen sink - this project is DONE!
3-Finish taxes - this project is DONE!
4-Make one crockpot dish 5-Work on second book box - finished book #20 from a box of 24, am reading book #21, that leaves 3 more to try
6-File everything in my desk "to file" basket - 10 minutes done
7-Plant goal (total of 8 plants) This project is DONE!
8-Continue refrigerating seeds that need cold stratification 9-Christmas card organizing and storing - Did 40 more minutes, this project is DONE!
10-Password project - 60 minutes 11-Old paper - 60 minutes - this project is DONE!
12-Book Data Entry - 60 minutes - this project is DONE!
13-Set up new plant table and grow light in living room by 2/25 - 10 minutes done, had to be undone. Will start again this week.

Last weekend of the month . I'm on track to finish the office/library. I counted and have about 100 books and magazines put aside for donation. This weekend I will move the last of the stuff going back into the office from the guest bedroom. If fates allow, the only things left in the other guest room will be the boxes of potential e-waste that require DH's input and the stack of donations. I had cleaners here last week and worked on the spare room while they were here. THEY WERE ABLE TO MOP IN THE OFFICE and CLEAN DM'S OLD ROOM!!! Yesterday, I cleared off the top of my roll-top desk, sorted through a box of stuff that goes on the roll-top or back in the office and went through a bin that held some memorabilia and our lock box. Lock box contents hadn't been touched since we moved here except to add to it. Cleared out a bunch of expired credit cards. I also turned in one set of materials to DM's estate accountant. I hope to have the company's done this coming week. Our personal ones will need to wait until the estate ones are done but hopefully can get it 90% ready. PC

Oh that's a good goal def, good luck with the now three days that are left. How lucky that you get an extra day in the month this year!
Phoenixcat, with all the hard work you're doing the thing that still impresses me the most is your releasing books--that is still my nemesis.
I will do much better on my goals this month than the last few, there will still be a couple of things that will go to next month but I'm happy with what I did so far. My main goal right now is to get back to baseline but I have some dog things sitting in the dining room that I'm not sure what to do with, and there are still things I moved to the first floor kitchen. But I should be back there by the end of the month. Tomorrow I will try to get more seeds in the fridge, but I think my crockpot dish will have to wait until next month since tomorrow is going to be 75 degrees--too warm to have the crockpot bubbling away for a few hours.
I'm already planning next month's goals.

Hi Everyone ! I did all the dailies today and also laundry which is in the dryer. Took down the trash. Processed he mail. Texted with a good friend and my Dd. Talked with my BFF in CT. Big thing was ---I cleaned the cat fountain, including dismantling the pump, cleaning it, and reassembling it. I timed this and it took 40 minutes. I detest this job. The only reason I put up with it is because Latte tends to have kidney probs and should drink more. Cats like moving water. They do seem to drink more from the fountain. My best to all. catcats This post should have been put into the weekly posts, not the challenge set. ---My bad.

Looks like everyone is doing pretty good! ow exciting to be getting on top of things. I am just slogging through slowly but have made some progress this month, some of it's even actually visible. I haven't always made a 15 min declutter every single day but some days I've done several. Some have been inside and some outside. I have been keeping track in my blog so maybe at the end of the month I'll go count them all up ;-) and report back.

Hello All!
Tomorrow is the last day of the month, and the last day of my medical leave. I'll be back to work on Friday, March 1st.
Tomorrow morning I will take 2 large black trash bags, and 4 kitchen size trash out, along with 2 mop handles for which the mop heads have not held up (they disintegrated). One of these bags is filled with old salad dressings and condiments from my fridge. (The perfectionist me would have cleaned out all of these bottles first, but I had to just close my eyes, and let them go.)
Yesterday, I dropped of a bag of clothing at a clothing collection container.
Tomorrow, I hope to load up a box or two of items to drop off at a thrift store.
I have filled my shredder with paper almost daily over the past few weeks (old statements, school papers, etc., I compost this)
On Monday I took 2 boxes of junk mail, old magazines etc, and a bag of recyclables (cans and bottles) out for recycling.
I hope to continue with this same (or similar) challenge in March!

Ally, it sounds like you did great this month--when you go back to work it will be a lot harder but if you try to do just a very small amount each day--even 5 minutes will add up. Good work letting the bottles go without cleaning them--there aren't enough hours in the day to do all the things we would "like" to do, so the most important things have to come first.
Scholar, look at you, another month full of red check marks!
Thank you Ally, scholar, bree, catcats, def, mary, messmallo, and phoenixcat for posting, I hope to see you all again next month!
Here is my final result: In the last week I finished the hour on the password project, setting up the plant table/grow light in the living room, and putting seeds in the fridge for cold stratification. I'm slowly reading the current book from the book box. And I'm almost back to baseline after being derailed last week, I just have a few things to clean up downstairs so I'm hoping to do that tonight.
I did not make my crockpot dish, and I did not finish the basket of filing. Of course, I did all the easy filing first, and am left with the things I want to keep but that go in harder to find files, or maybe even need deliberation to figure out if I even want to keep them. So, two things not done, much better than the last couple of months.
1-Get back to baseline every day - almost back there, hopefully by tonight if I don't make any new messes 2-Clean underneath upstairs kitchen sink - this project is DONE!
3-Finish taxes - this project is DONE!
4-Make one crockpot dish 5-Work on second book box - finished book #20 from a box of 24, am reading book #21, that leaves 3 more to try
6-File everything in my desk "to file" basket - 20 minutes done
7-Plant goal (total of 8 plants) This project is DONE!
8-Continue refrigerating seeds that need cold stratification this project is DONE!
9-Christmas card organizing and storing - this project is DONE!
10-Password project - 60 minutes this project is DONE!
11-Old paper - 60 minutes - this project is DONE!
12-Book Data Entry - 60 minutes - this project is DONE!
13-Set up new plant table and grow light in living room by 2/25 - this project is DONE!
I will post a thread for March this afternoon.

Well, I didn't get the things out of the oven and I was not able to weed that little bit outside, but I did do the big job of cleaning out under the sink. I had thought maybe I 'd do some work in the attic on the Christmas stuff, but I did not.
I am not disappointed though. The biggest thing got done and I did lots of other things. Some will slide into March.

Great job everyone!! Diane - yes - releasing books is hard! About 20 or so are my parents' books which were difficult because I've pared them down so much over the years while sitting with them discussing why they wanted to keep them. Brought up some sad memories. But they are books I won't read so they should go to someone who will. The work on the spare room and the office/library will leak into this weekend. I was hyper focused on taxes at work this past week and was tired at night so didn't get a lot done in the evenings. The file cabinet that I moved in there is now partially filled with 2020 and 2021 taxes (ours and DM's). Will move 2022 in there once 2023 has been completed. Two sets of taxes will be on their way to accountant on Monday. It would have been today but 1) I didn't want to stay late last night and 2) I'm working from home today and left everything at the office. For personal, it is just photocopying before all the originals go to the accountant. And, for business - about 2 hours of work left. Fortunately, in the office paperwork - I found a 2/29 deadline that I just squeaked in so was rewarded in my efforts! . Normally I get a reminder and this year I didn't for some reason - added it to my task list so that going forward - won't have that problem again. Also, found another tax deadline that I thought was "end of month" but actually was the 28th and squeaked that one under the wire as well. Maybe next year I will be more organized Estate taxes are with the accountant and we can close the estate in 2023 - SO THANKFUL!! I feel semi-accomplished this month - now to get all this stuff actually out of my house! Onward to March!! PC
