Hi. I'm Kelly and I chose the screen name "tired" because I feel so overwhelmingly exhausted. There are so many things wrong with me, squalor, depression, anxiety, compulsive behavior. I neglect myself in every way possible and I don't know why. Getting my life together seems so overwhelming and I'm such a pig. I panic when the doorbell rings. I lay in front of the tv or computer for hours and hours instead of doing my paperwork/bills, cleaning my house, exercising, tending to medical care, etc. because I feel so overwhelmed. I can't live like this anymore. I'm hoping that admitting this in writing like this will help me take some steps. Thank you for listening.

Welcome, Kelly! I think that you found the right place! So many of us have dealt with similar issues and similar feelings!
Won't you go pick up 3 bits of trash and put them into a trash bag, then post? Then we can cheer you on. Many people find it helpful to tie one of those plastic bags from the grocery store to every doorknob, to start collecting trash into!
You will learn tips and pointers and gain skills by staying here at SOS...just stay around, and keep reading and posting!

Darlin', it's HARD to clean when you are tired and depressed. Add compulsive behavior that gets in your way and it is no wonder you feel overwhelmed. But you can do it. Big tasks are MUCH easier if you can ignore how big the job is and focus on taking tiny baby steps. Pick up ONE item of trash and pitch it out. You will be that one step closer to feeling better about yourself. Give it a try.

Kelly, believe me... I *know* how you feel! I feel the same way. Very overwhelmed. Wondering where to start? But at the same time, I can not continue to live this way! It's hard. But, maybe we can encourage each other to get through this. I guess that what this forum is for, right!? =)

Hi Kelly,
We could be sharing a diary from what you've written.
I look forward to getting to know you and sharing the road to home being a haven and not an embarrassment.
DiamondGal.

Boy oh boy, Kelly, you sure came to the right place! Overwhelmed and tired is my middle name, . Sometimes I think about everything when I wake up in the morning, and then I don't want to get up at all. But, I do get up and come in and read some S.O.S. posts. That reminds me to just do one little thing at a time and it will add up. So here is a welcome hug .

Welcome. to SOS. I oh so know what you are describing! Take baby steps, baby steps. And even with one little step like clearing a corner of a table, or rinsing out a cup, feel welcome to tell us about it. We know those baby steps are actually HUGE victories.
