This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM !

:)Good morning Courageously Lion, glowworm, and Creative Chaos! You are on a roll today, glowworm! And Creative Chaos, good on you for all that garden work and decluttering! Awesome! We had another tornado warning here right when I was about to go to bed, but it stayed south of us. Hopefully no one was hurt. So sick of this weather. Today it's too windy again for the roofers to get up on our roof and fix it. I may have to do a rush declutter of the closet from h#ll if we can't get it fixed soon. The hole from the fallen tree is above this closet. I am soooo not ready to face that closet. The last few days, I've realized that I've let depression and guilt keep me from doing things I've always enjoyed. So at some point today I'm going to pack up some of my guilt. I had a great craft business for years, but over the last couple of years, my hubby has been working lots of overtime and hasn't been around to help with the kids so I can work, and we haven't been able to go to many shows because of his schedule, and our newest child has made it harder to do shows. Now, on top of that, gas has gone up so much that I'd have to raise my prices to the point that I might not sell enough to make it worth it. I need to re-emerge later on as an internet business, but I need to get my act together first, and learn how to enjoy life again. It's hard to be creative when I'm down all the time. Every day, all around me are reminders of this business I have/had that is not doing anything. I see the stuff I think I should be doing something about, and I get "stuck". Then I shut down and don't do anything at all. I loved what I was doing and took great pride in it. Seeing the stuff around the house makes me feel like a failure, even though I know I'm not. I just need to have some distance from it for a bit, and regroup. Circumstances will change. Maybe it'll be up and running again as a mail-order biz when my youngest starts kindergarten. I think that maybe if I pack up my whole business in plastic tubs and clear a place in the basement for it all, I can give myself permission to put the thing on hold, and pursue other creative things I want to try. I have years of time and energy and supplies tied up into this business, and I could bring it back to life later on, when circumstances are better. So today I'm giving myself permission to put thousands of dollars of supplies and inventory on hold. It was a jewelry business. No precious metals, but I'm heavily invested in beads. I could start a bead store! In fact I might someday. I used to manage one years ago. I want to try painting watercolors to cover my bare walls, and to learn how to sew clothing that fits me (I'm about four different clothing sizes, depending on where I measure). These things, and other pursuits, remain on hold while my business, and all the money tied up in it, stays in sight to haunt me. So it's jewelry-making and selling hiatus time for me, and I need to start packing it up neatly so I can return to it easily. I guess for me this decision is a TADA! So it will be first on my list! 1)Started moving on from business that is at a standstill, and the guilt I feel about it. 2)garbage to curb. 3)Dishwasher loaded and running. Now that I'm starting to put a finger on what is causing the thinking that makes it such a fight for me to clean, I need to spend some time on that daily, at least fifteen minutes. To do's: 1) Buy one plastic storage box for some of my supplies. I'll have other boxes later as I get rid of stuff I will never use, but I need to get started on this. 2)trim grass growing near tomatoes and add more mulch to keep the grass down. 3)Spend fifteen minutes doing something, anything, to improve the basement of doom. Wow, this post really got long! Off I go!

I'm stillllll heeeeerrrrrre! Really procrastinating going to work today; good thing I'm self employed! Hi bluefrog; I see we're about in the same place. I'm slowly getting going... laughinglark, how well I can relate to your post! I'm so proud of you for realizing what is happening and taking some action to do your passions! Who knows where that will lead, but you are on the right track! Glow worm, you continue to keep on glowing and going! Hope you put your feet up while relaxing to read the paper; you earned it this morning!
ta das: 1. wrote a check for a bill that is due 2. wrote an invoice so I'll get some money to pay the bills! 3. scrubbed bathroom sink; that hadn't been done in a long time and the sink was really an eyesore. I wonder what happened to my maintenance this last month? maintenance is always hardest for me. I guess I am a *** person and have to keep on myself constantly or everything starts getting piled and thrown and soon I can't find the floor or any flat space. that's where it is now; level 2. Yuck. to dos: 1. go to work; I'm way behind due to rain 2. grab some breakfast on the go 3. read and report here later when I'm home between jobs

Hello everyone! Thanks for kicking the thread off Lioness. Awesome work so far Glowworm, you're steaming along! Creativechaos, I'm so sorry for what happened to the ducks while you were looking after them. Well done for taking care of things and letting the owner know. Wtg clearing out more of the storage unit and the garden work! That is a tada-and-a-half Lark, working through the issues (and thoughts and emotions surrounding) of the jewellery-making business and making a decision on it. Sounds like a good idea to try different creative things that you enjoy - a change may be as good as a break from the jewellery-making, and you're not left with a huge void to fill. Hi Bluefrog, I love you first Tada! I may use that on a future occasion. Hypatia, great start! I too have achieved verticality so far. along with breakfast and checking emails. Next: Get dressed Wash Comb hair
