I think most of us can relate to the backsliding. Not that long ago I was 100% squalor free. I had almost a BH&G picture perfect house. And then a few days of neglect on maintenance...
WHOOSH, right back into clutter and chaos!
Youhave the right attitude, just get in and do what you can to get it back on track. I am here cheering you on!!!!

Soooo - I'm tired of wondering "why" I do things like this over and over.I can relate, it's hard but you've caught yourself and posted about it! that's huge step in the right direction!!! Sometimes I do better when I stop focusing on the why and just accept that it is, easier said then done of course. I find for my self that if I analyzle "why" it feeds my depression and adds to me being stuck in my head, therefore I'm not anything and it becomes a vicious cycle. You have my full support and don't be hard on yourself best, artsy

Troubledmom - your picture made me laugh! That is so what I feel like! (Without the fun splashy landing!)
Glowworm - thanks for the cheers
artsygal - I think that the constant wondering was feeding my depression too. At some point (like today) I figure, who cares why, lets just get a move on!
Thanks you guys!

I mess up too. My natural nature is a messy. I'm lucky to have George to catch me up!! I do best with a daily routines & ETE... erase the evidence. (Cleaning up after myself at the time.)

Yay! I did it. I cleaned my kitchen and taught myself how to post pictures (and download them from my i-phone and load them on photobucket...) Fortunately, I had some great assistance from AngelinaHedgehog with the posting...
I'll have to post the "after" pictures tomorrow because I only have an i-phone to take digital shots and it doesn't have a flash. But now DD's asleep, DH's at his brother's bachelor party and I'm rewarding myself with a glass of wine and an awesome new book!
Tomorrow I'll do something else around the house. Boy, am I ever a poster child for "Motivation begins with action!"

notc,
Your backslide post hit home. I had the same feeling a while back...but instead of going to it, I didn't...I kept running around and doing things outside the home. I let my friends talk me into doing things for fun instead of doing my chores. Now I am faced with several solid days worth of things to do just to get back to "neat and clean" - which still doesn't address my 12 rubbermaid bins in the huge master closet and also my 8' x 8' laundry room that is floor to ceiling piled with boxes from my old apt (where I lived over 5 years ago).
I have made myself a goal of getting the neat and clean part finished before the July 4th holiday weekend. If I do that, then I can take an extra day off over the holiday and have four days to work on the boxes. I will be giving 30 days notice on my apartment on June 30th - for an July 30th move....and I will have to find a place to move for August 1st. So I will be more busy that ever for a while. No idea how I will do it. It seems doable on the calendar, but I am well known for underestimating how long things will take..I am scared to death that I won't make it.
Wish me luck.
Onward

>:(I too am a backslider. I was doing pretty well, and then the depression hit. That happens to me on and off despite medication. Well, you know what happened. :'(By the time the fog lifted, things were waaaaaay behind again. (I was spending a lot of my time asleep during my down period, and things just don't get done unless you are up to do them, .) Since there are bunch of us backsliders, we will be in good company as we get back up and try again.

I can relate. I went to Oregon a few weeks ago, leaving husband and kids in charge-and you can guess the result. Looks like a long few days to get back, but at least I was back!
