This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.) EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple: - Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing. Once you have 3 things done, post them here.- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again. [/color] Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post. Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da! If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you. Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM![/b]

Good morning, Rosebud! I don't have anywhere to be until this evening, so I really need to get my rear in gear! I feel like I could use some caffeine... but I'm not supposed to have it. Hmm. We'll see if I can get by! TaDa: - Out of bed (took 30 minutes past alarm, but I'm up!) - Made bed (2nd day in a row! Could this be a new habit??) ToDo: - Wash & dress - Breakfast - Take items to post office to be mailed I finally noticed a perk to making my bed - I sleep better in it that way! With all the sheets and blankets all neatly in their places, I'm not waking up with things bunched up uncomfortably. And since I have a waterbed, the blankets and sheets keep the heat in... not only making things VERY cozy when I slide in at the end of the day, but probably saving me $ on the energy to heat it. So that's good! I might just keep it up.... After my errand I hope to tackle some of the mess.. the living room will probably take a good bit of the day but I'd like to at least get it started! I'll be popping into chat throughout the day if anyone wants to join me! Have a wonderful day, everyone! Stay cool!

More storms forcast for today so I guess I need to get my exercise in here at the house. Yesterday all I got done was some weeding in the yard, planting some pots, and making a dessert for the kids next door...all of which resulted in screwing up the spaces I had worked on the day before. As usual today will be spent reclaiming the territory I cleared the day before. Just listing Ta Da's today....To Do's are too discouraging today.
TA DA'S unloaded dishwasher loaded dishwasher cleaned stove top picked up trash in fam rm took chicken out of freezer for tomorrow marinating pork tenderloin cleared and wiped counters

Hi, hatdiva! It sounds like yesterday was a productive day, even though it made some mess. Don't beat yourself up about it. Today is a new day you're already off to a good start getting the dishwasher unloaded! Personally, the heat would have kept me from weeding, no matter how bad it was. And it was sweet of you to make that dessert (no pun intended!) Just take things a little bit at a time and I know they will get done. My living room has gotten worse as far as being a pile of STUFF since I joined here, but I've made good progress in other areas of the house and have seen a change in my behavior and attitude for the better... so hang in there! I just discovered last night that no matter how late it is or how tired I am, if anything in my 3 tidy areas is out of place, it BUGS me! That's never happened before... but now as I'm turning out lights and checking to make sure the oven is off, door is locked, etc. I'm also closing the shower curtain and any open cupboards or closet doors, straightening things that belong on countertops and removing things that don't, and I don't feel able to fully rest until I do! It's so weird to feel that way... but it's a good thing I guess since it's keeping me on track. All this to say... I hear your discouragement and I understand... and I know it will get better!

What a bum morning. Haven't really done much but pick at the skin on my hands and stare like a zombie... the baby didn't let me sleep much last night, so I'm exhausted. I do have some small tadas, though.
1) Ate breakfast 2) Tried new cloth diaper on baby... it's cute. 3) brushed my hair. I'm proud of this one. I tend to be hazy in the morning, and I'll forget to brush my hair until late in the evening. NOt good when i's *** near waist length.
I really struggled for those, though. I haven't even put on shoes yet.
TODOS:
1) Go get cashier's check for phone bill 2) Put away dishes from two nights ago 3) Work on desk some more.

Before I even looked at the posts< I to was going to write how tired and unmotivated I am. I do know that I've never been a consistently "perky" person, so I've accepted I'm not always going to be as productive every day. I think that's called being human. So to all, remember to be gentle with yourselves today, All of you have done something!!! wtg!!! tadas -made bed -coffee -fed and let dogs out todos -take mom to PT appt. -call and cancel/reschedule appointment for tomorrow, and get script called in for here I'm out of town! -take a shower best, artsy

I just discovered last night that no matter how late it is or how tired I am, if anything in my 3 tidy areas is out of place, it BUGS me! That's never happened before... That sounds like a huge change both in your perception of the clean areas and in your reaction to them! Congrats! Starting late today- actually, I started kinda early, then went back to bed. Ta Dah * had lunch * fed cats * set up fan To do * groceries (which I didn't do yesterday) * pick up med (") * check on meds

I ended up doing some avoidance napping and feeling blah. I finally managed to get myself out the door.
Ta dah * Grocery shopping * Picked up meds * Bought spray paint
Each apartment has a wheeled bin that gets put at the curb on trash day. In my 2 apt building, we only had one and shared it. A new showed up and over the weekend, the downstairs neighbor filled both up with her trash. Now I have bags of trash I can't take out. She's does this kind of stuff all the time, so I'm going to spray-paint each one with our apt number. It won't help, she'll still fill up both, but it's worth a try.

Next? I'm not sure.

I like this idea, so here's a first one for all of today.
Btw ^ Awesome job for working on projects!
TaDa's 1. Took Cat to Vet 2. Swept Bathroom 3. Swept Kitchen 4. Brought bookshelf in, and set it up 5. Put all the spare books in the dining room in the bookshelf. 6. Cleaned dining room table 7. Put up most of the clean dishes 8. Got all the dirty dishes rinsed and put in the washer other than what my roommates are still eating out of. 9. Put away the rice cooker 10. Organized work backpack 11. Organized purse and put all things "to handle" in one pocket 12. Tried to vacuum the dining room and found my vacuum is broken (hey, it was effort and i went over it a whiel before i realized there was an issue!) 13. Knitted a few rounds on 1 of the 2 scarves I owe.
ToDos for today 1. Drink some water 2. Take my meds, wash my face, brush my teeth, floss, get pjs on (remember to not skip a step in the evening routine)
Just overwhelmed by the todo list for tommorow.
