This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU CERTAINLY HAVE EARNED THEM !

Stressed's to dos so she does not forget in the morning (I hope nobody minds me using this that way). 1. Give the bathroom a once every couple of weeks scrub. Mirror, tub need it most. 2. Work on Project M some more - finish the embroidery for the first part. 3. Take out at least 1/3 of the recyclables to the local center.

hi everyone! yes, where do we find out about these mysterious projects, is there a thread? maybe we could list some of ours there too! Then it would be fun to say, worked on project D for a half hour. cool! hi ya threeg; WTG getting your chores and errands done! How did it get to be so late today already?! I've been tethered to the phone and computer all morning, and now it's almost noon! Never did make it outside yesterday; yesterday was a total wash, best forgotten. No insperctors today yet; maybe they're coming Mon. or Tue. That would be better for me! ta das: 1. cursory straightening up in walk-in closet 2. picked some stuff up off bedroom floor 3. made bed
1. showered, dressed, trimmed hair 2. quick vac and put away vacuum cleaner 3. bought an airline ticket to fly back east to see my family

If there's a competition on who logs on the lasted I'm the winner so far! Wtg all, greta starts today. I find as my mom is mobile (except for driving) my duties have been taken back. Surprisingly I've become kind of possessive in relinquishing them, but my mom really does want to do them to feel like she's getting back to normal. I think i may be slowly changing for the better. The real test will be when I return home. tadas -coffee -fed dogs -dropped mom at PT todos -pick mom up from PT -pick up prescriptions for me called in here -go grocery shopping with my mom! Yeah! -set up a comp account for mom -scan some family photos i want -make returns to two store best artsy

Great to hear your Mom is getting more self-sufficient, Artsy. And it's also great to see your list of TADAs, no matter when they are posted. Creativechaos, good job on the vacuuming *and* putting the vacuum back -- a step I've been known to neglect. I came back in to cool off and check the temperature on weather.com. The computer claims that it is not yet 100, but I think it's lying. Still trying to perservere despite the heat. TADAs: 1. Two loads of laundry done 2. Laundry folded and/or hung 3. Ladies' unmentionables put in drawer TODO: 1. Large glass of water 2. Get rest of stuff from laundry room and put it away 3. Something for lunch which does not require cooking! WestsideStory

Ta dah * Grocery shopping * Mailed letter * Rescheduled appointment
I like the mysteriousness of "Project R", etc. It wouldn't be nearly as interesting if you knew that R stands for something rather mundane.
In fact, I'd like to encourage everyone to come up with a project- something that would take a week or more to accomplish. Then try to work on it once a day/week/whatever. I try to do something on a project (I have 3) once a day although I usually end up doing it every other day. Then I use the following measurements to post it:
- Nibble= 15 minutes - Bite= 1/2 hour - Chomp= 1 hour
I use food words because I think of the joke "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time".
Working on a project is tough because it looks like an impossibly large job. But breaking it down into parts makes it less scary. And posting about secret projects makes others wonder about what exciting things you're doing! As a bonus, anyone working on a project is automatically a member of the Secret Haven of Habitual Hard workers (SHHH!).
Seriously, projects are tough. I'll use pretty much any method or trick that helps me work on them.

Ah, the mysteriousness of life!!! I like letting my imagination go wild when I see Project R and Project M. Project Ravishing and Project Mundane? Or Project Repulsive and Project Majestic? Ah, the mystery.
On a more serious note, I've been purposefully vague about some of my Important Paperwork. There are some projects where I wouldn't want to spill the embarassing and awkward details anywhere on the 'net.
Great thinking, Syzygy! Anything that helps get them done.
TADAs: 1. Picked up plant which was ordered 2. Got gas 3. Did a little more work on art project
TODOs:
1. Plant plant 2. Go for swim 3. Mail bills
Hope you all have good afternoons/evenings!
