rhall... you're absolutely right. Safety is paramount when using Freecycle. I spend a lot of time trying to teach my members (I own my local group) about safety... you'd be stunned at how many people will go on and on about "I live alone with two small children and desperately need help". One woman was leaving things IN her house and letting people pick them up while she wasn't there. Not surprisingly, something was stolen.
Meet in public whenever possible, and only give out the absolute minimum amount of information necessary, and only to one person at a time.

thanks all for your replies.
I don't have interent at home so freecycle is a bit inconvenient but I have discovered the free scetion of craigslist. Right now I'm hoping to GET more than give but while sorting a lot of stuff recently realize I also have stuff to give.
Rennie, I have the perfect cd for you!!!- I will pm you as soon as I dig it out of the closet.
Since no one is being mean to me (why did I even fear this???) I will say what I really want is a double bed matress protector/pad. I use old blankets now but it makes the corners higher than the middle which is uncomfortable. they seem expensive at the department stores and with no car I can't go to discount shops without a major effort. my dogs throw up on my bed at least 2ce a month.(together, not each) they prefer to do this on the bed than anywhere else.

Hey puppybox! You have a PM from me. Since you just said you'd send Rennie Ellen a PM, I figure you probably already know how to get to your PMs but just in case you don't...here's a pic: Just click on the part I circled in purple when you log in to the forum to access your PMs. And just in case that image doesn't show up above, here is a link to it: i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/RoseOfTX/post%20attachments/PMLink.jpgLove, Rose
