Thank you, merrymaid. Your determination to do something, and paperpiler's comments, got me moving. The corner of my hall where I keep brooms and plastic bags is organized and my Tupperware cabinet is very roomy now.

MerryMaid, could you put a cat door into the mudroom door, so kitty won't get stuck in there anymore? Or add a small litterbox in one corner, so if kitty gets caught, there is a place to "go"?
I LOVE the idea of doing the mudroom first.
Then, I think that you should work on one cabinet at a time in the kitchen, and either throw away or donate lots of things. The more space you reclaim in those cabinets, the easier it will be to clean out the laundry room!
Let us know how the mudroom challenge goes!

Hi Crazycatlady It's funny you should say that.... we Have a cat door!! . We put it in when we first moved here, so Frosty would have a place to go in the winter. But she's too old to learn how to use it. We tried and tried, put her trough it even, but she won't of her own accord. I put a picture up on the photo board that shows are new kitty peering in. He won't go through either, though could probably learn if we worked with him. My husband is going to build a cat house for them this fall, so they can go in there in the winter, as we're going to remodel / add onto the mudroom and we don't want it to smell like this one does. Frosty didn't do well with a catbox either. Before she became an outside cat we had her inside and she went anywhere. Someone had dumped her off at our old house and we started feeding her, then when we moved her, we tried to make her an indoor cat (I LOVE cats!) but it just didn't work. Sorry to ramble! Thank you for your ideas. m.
