2cats
It was only AFTER we had an issue where the catbox overflowed and the cat peed outside the box (he's huge, so he would walk into the box and his butt hung out - we have since gotten a bigger box). Pee soaked through to the pad. I pulled up the carpet in the corner and took out the pad. I cleaned the floor underneath and then painted sealer on the floor. When that dried, I put down the new piece of pad and cleaned the carpet as well as I could. It was only then that I bought the large rubber backed rug to put down. I guess I will discover when I move how successful the repair was.
The Clown car of Cinchsacks cracked me up and I am quite familiar with the late night dumpster run concept.
I am packing to move as I clean this time around. It is amazing how many things I can let go of that I haven't been able to cull out before. I feel pretty ruthless. The donation box is overflowing. I am even getting rid of a huge crystal bowl I got as a wedding gift. My daughter and son wouldnt want stuff like this because it was never part of their memories. There are still plenty of "treasures" for them to choose from. I fully intend to take less than half of the contents of this apt to the new place.
Watching Clean House all weekend sure helps keep me in the spirit of things.

Welcome to the forum My2cats, from a fellow cat person. I had cats for most of my life. I can't have any here, but I miss them still. (My last cat died in 1995 at sixteen years old.) By the way, I hope that the nosey maintenance man learned a lesson and stays out of your apartment. What nerve! 3g is me
