Guess I never thought about it that way...Inspire? Me? In my mind, it was more like showing the world how embarrassingly inadequate I am. I am working on changing my 'self-opinion'... ! Thank you to everyone!!!!!

Thanks Bluerose, Gosh...the 'aftermath' and the 'maintaining'. Both long stories. Aftermath: The show was in and out like a whirlwind. Everything happened so fast. The last final hours, they were trying to shoot all the 'aftershots'. So, they were trying to make the livingroom look great...they put all my laundry into huge garbage bags and put them...somewhere??? After they left, I took a shower to clean up and relax...however, I couldn't find any of my 'under clothes'.... !! Finally found them in the upstairs loft above the living room..THAT was an experience..knowing that a bunch of MEN were manhandling my 'undies', then realizing I have no idea what they did with them. Maintaining: Always a struggle. My daughter, Reilly, said to me tonight, "I really can't stand this much of a mess." I said, "OK..why don't you help me clean it up?" She said she didn't feel like it and when I asked her "What if I don't feel like it either?", she answered, "You're the adult, you need to take responsibility." Is that classic or what? She's 10!!! Made me laugh out loud. No, having a crew sweep in and clean up for two days did not 'cure' me. I am constantly struggling with myself in my head. In some ways, it is worse now...cause I know the whole world is judging me and my behavior. Hoarders is already talking about a follow-up show...they want before and after pix of my home repairs and organizing to see if I will 'qualify'...UGHHH...talk about PRESSURE!! My private homelife is no longer private. I can only imagine how it will be after the show airs. I love, love, love the support and encouragement. However, I expect there will be an equal amount of ugliness. I read this on one of the hoarding websites: The people in your life who matter don't mind, and often those who mind, don't matter. Love and Winks ;-) Chris

Welcome - hoarders have to have a thick skin - it is too new to most people for them to understand or comprehend - just like any condition that is considered out of the norm (alcohol addiction, drug addiction, various ocds, various forms of mental illness). I believe hoarding is common worldwide - that it varies between being a mild ocd to a severe one - or a form of mental illness in some cases or it is combined with other issues - seeing it as a child - depression - poor health - feeling overwhelmed - poverty (or some cases wealth) and just too many other issues to mention. I look forward to your show.

One of the blogs that I follow has this quote & I absolutely love it. So simple yet so true.
Krysta, I read over at TWoP so I've been 'following' you for a little bit & I just want to say that you should be commended for your willingness to 'come clean" & tackle this problem openly.

Welcome! I too am glad to see you here and really appreciate your being on the show. You are definitely inspirational to me. I grew up with a hoarder and have hoarding tendencies myself. It has taken me years but I no longer hoard. It is a struggle sometimes not to get this or that to save "just in case," or, "might-needs." I come here because this is a place where people understand what I have gone through but at the same time will encourage me NOT to backslide. I do believe you will overcome and we will be here with you every step of the way.
Again, WELCOME!!

I was asked to work Monday the night of your show. They were so short staffed they're offering the Nurses quite a bonus to work it. I chose not to so I can be here to watch the show and stay close to SooS. I almost feel like a RL family member is in need and I have to watch it with the group. Amazing how close we feel to our fellow members here. HUGS SNM

Welcome. You will not find cruel people here. You will find people who've been there, done that, have the Tshirt, and will help you get on track and stay on track. Here, have a cup of tea.

No, no, no...do not give up your income!! It's just a tv show!! I have to work Monday night as well, so I will not get to see the show until 3 am when it repeats!!! I REALLY appreciate the dedication and feeling of 'family', but Honey...the bills still gotta be paid! ;-)
I do understand though, while my episode is airing for the first time...while the WHOLE world is seeing my deep, dark, embarrassing secrets...I will be at work...standing in front of a class...teaching grammar...UGH!!
Go for the money, girl!!!
