I need to go off-topic.
This is on a completely different topic ... an inspirational quote.

I need to go off-topic. This is on a completely different topic ... an inspirational quote. Is there a different thread for non-money inspirational quotes and pictures? I posted one on the Housekeeping & Mandalas thread the other days as I don't know if there is another thread. I also found one for today. Maybe we should start a separate thread for non-money quotes, pictures & affirmations? Here is one I just came across:

I also found one for today. Maybe we should start a separate thread for non-money quotes, pictures & affirmations? Each month Dragoness changes the topic for this thread, and yet it's just a *suggested* topic. My understanding is ... that all quotes that might be generally uplifting for anyoneor humorous-but-somewhat-relevant for our membership ... are welcome on this thread. It's not an exact science. We don't have to stick to the topic-of-the-month. Dragoness posted the following message on Byways -- because members had been posting quotes on Byways: I want to let everyone know that if you have a great (or not-so-great) quote that you'd like to share, you are always free to put them on my quote thread on the General Board (instead of or in addition to posting them in By-ways, whichever one works best for you even if they have nothing to do with the topic of the month. That way even the people who are not members of SOoS will be able to enjoy some of the quote jewels you've discovered.
I've really loved reading all of the great quotes posted in By-ways and just wanted to extend an open invitation to my quote party in the front forum anytime. (Casual dress is fine. )

For all those who don't have a "partner" with whom to celebrate Valentines Day ...
"I love myself, I love myself I think I am divine I ring me on the telephone And take me out to dine." -- anonymous(?) [received from a friend who got it from a relative of another friend]
"Self-love, my liege, is not so vile a sin, as self-neglecting." -- William Shakespeare, Henry V
"To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance." -- Oscar Wilde, Phrases and Philosophies for the use of the Young Oxford Student Magazine, 1894

Thank you, Lioness. You're exactly right. I choose a different topic each month that I think may be relevant to some or all of our members. It could be a topic that's motivational, reassuring, or, like this month, humorous. However, I welcome all quotes, poems, images, etc., on this thread, on- or off-topic, funny or serious. If any member comes across something that has inspired them to get clean and clutter-free (or anything else) or has brightened their day in some way, they are more than welcome to share it here. That way everyone, members and visitors alike, get to appreciate whatever great quote or joke or image you've discovered (like that screamingly hilarious ecard above ). And Lioness, I just love that first little Valentine ditty you posted. I need to call myself for a dinner date tomorrow ASAP...

I guess I never noticed the topic changing before, until I finally found a couple picture quotes to post and then it seemed like it was only turned into a money quote thread.

Right ... each month, dragonness changes the thread title (subject line) of the entire thread ... by editing the first post of the very first page of the thread. (and this makes the current posts have that title).
It's all one thread that's maybe two years old, but the title changes to the *suggested* topic

More quotes intended to cheer us up on Valentine's Day:
"I don't understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon." ~Author Unknown
"I'm single because I was born that way." ~Mae West
"You do not need to be loved, not at the cost of yourself. The single relationship that is truly central and crucial in a life is the relationship to the self. Of all the people you will know in a lifetime, you are the only one you will never lose." - Jo Courdert
"I must learn to love the fool in me the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries." - Theodore Isaac Rubin
"Buy flowers and give them to a stranger on the street today." - spoken by one of our SOS members in the chatroom several years ago on Valentines' Day -- who did this and really brought smiles into the world.

Lioness I learned a slighty different version of a song you posted above
I love myself I love me so I took myself to the picture show I wrapped my arms around my waist, I got so fresh I slapped my face
I'm a nut I'm a nut I'm a nut, I'm a nut, Yes, a nut.
I'm a little acorn small, Sitting under this tree so tall Everybody steps on me That is why I'm cracked you see.
(The verses are somewhat endless)

Singles Awareness Day ("s.a.d.") was created as an alternative to Valentine's Day."If you would like to make Valentine's Day special for someone else – perhaps even a stranger – there are plenty of options. One suggestion is to send yourself roses at work with a blank card. This will be entertaining and puzzling to your office-mates, and on the way home you can distribute a single rose to people that you pass who look like they could use the pick-me-up. After all, sometimes the best joy is that of giving happiness to others.""If you have the evening free, why not call a local hospital or nursing home to find out if there's a patient who doesn't have family visiting frequently and drop in to wish them a Happy Valentines Day complete with flowers or a goodie basket. This might turn out to be the most rewarding day of your life. If you choose this route, be sure to have some tissues as it could turn into a teary experience for both of you."Above quotes from:www.singlesawareness.com/single-on-valentines-day.htm(note that you can do the above suggestions ANY time of the year.)

If you want to make a little money in aviation, start with a lot of money. (For anyone who has ever wanted to learn to fly or owned an airplane.)
If God had wanted man (or woman) to fly, He would have given him (or her) a huge amount of money at birth.

I don't find humor in finances. But I found this quote to be inspirational: "To fulfill a dream, to be allowed to sweat over lonely labor, to be given a chance to create, is the meat and potatoes of life. The money is the gravy." -- Bette Davis
