Did anyone see the latest Holmes on Homes tonight? The couple was having some outside trouble and humidifier trouble in the home. When Mike went in to investigate, it looked like the couple had alot of stuff. (I didn't catch the main reason why they had so much stuff - but it looked like they were hoarders) - Mike brought his team in and they cleared out all the stuff (with the permission of the homeowner and i'm sure the homeowner was involved in the clearing out) It just seemed interesting since Mike and his team usually do renovations and not clearing out of homes.

I saw the episode and the reason the couple had all the stuff piled up was beause some got destroyed plus they had some problems with hoarding too is what Mike said. Plus he had to get to the downstairs to fix 2 of the problems. I d agreehat it wasunique tat Mikeandhis crew helped them with the clearing out but she did tell them what to look for and that the rest was trash.

The couple's parents had passed on within the last seven or so years I believe. Between work and time at hospitals I got the idea that the deceased parents' entire households worth of stuff just came in fairly quickly and truly overwhelmed them. Certainly they worked very quickly to clear the items when they got the offer of help from Mr. Holmes. The show's lessons on how blocked air ducts and lack of access to the furnace and other equipment caused huge health and structural problems hit home (Holmes ) with me. I have not done the job of chucking stuff out of my furnace room since I put away decorations in January. That is all the time it has taken to change the room from one area of issues into an area where the only clear area is a path to the door. Still pretty much a single layer on the floor so I will get to it before a pile starts growing. The issues area is a steel and 2x4 wooden structure that I cannot seem to unbolt or saw up or otherwise destroy. I will clear that off again and take another look. And I will check that house humidifier setting! Good show to remind me to keep on preventative maintenance.
