Just thought I'd post a positive thing that I've been doing lately that have really helped and yes it has also led to desqualoring! If the good folks here have something they can shout out and say "Daggone am I ever proud of myself!" please do so. The pride of accomplishment is definitely a feel good type of thing and quite encouraging and why keep it to yourself? Since the 5th of April I've been doing physical therapy as an outpatient at a local nursing facility and it has really been helping me. No, it has not reduced chronic pain but I guess I can say it has modified it. I've gained quite a bit of strength and flexibility and better endurance. I am walking much better and standing taller and hardly need a cane or clip-on crutch anymore. (I carry a hiking staff around with me but only to assist me to get up out of low chairs and benches and sometimes for balance). I decided to try PT again (for the 7th time) since the V.A. offered to pay for it and I can do it locally here in my little town. Also I figured that I can either be in severe chronic pain and remain debilitated and get worse or I can be in severe chronic pain and gain strength and endurance. A no-brainer. I continue to add flexibility excercises a little at a time and hope to be able to get back to a bit of stationary biking. I am hoping to add walking my dogs a few blocks every night at some point. The added strength allows me to clean more and tackle some projects I've needed to do for a long time. So I'd say PT can be included as a good desqualoring tool. Be Blessed!

Excellent! This is a great way to take control of what you can, to help you deal with what you can't.
You are in my prayers.

Fabulous news, Hurtnbroke. Thank you for posting your successful experience. I've missed you and have been thinking of you lately. Whenever I look at that photo of my granddaughter in her Hallowe'en costume, I remember your comment and it makes me smile.
