I just heard the expression "clutter blind", so I decided to share. I'm definitely blind to my own clutter. I like the way the term kinda sounds like "color blind", gives it a little legitimacy.

- Thanks for posting this!
I tend to be "clutter blind", too.
For years, I could not "see" or the mess.
And I didn't care about seeing it.
One of my ex-boyfriends used to say I was "ambivilous" (He coined a word to combine ambivalent and oblivious).
He meant that I was oblivious to (blind to, unaware of) the chaos I was creating ....
... and then, if someone pointed it out, I was ambivalent about (fuzzy about, made half-hearted promises about) cleaning it up.
In other words, I "didn't know and didn't care".

Thanks for introducing me to this term, Xieva!
CL, truly red/green color blind people have to train themselves to judge when a light is red or green, and I like the idea that we have to train ourselves to "see" what is so obvious to others in a similar way.
This also conjures up the idea of seeing through the eyes of others, and could go very deep.

I know what you mean. Some days I jforce myself to open my eyes and tell myself "Just put away anything you see that doesn't belong here."

My DH likes butter. He's also dyslexic. I could say he's "butter-clined."

I am the opposite -- I see all the clutter, and it stresses me out so badly, yet for so long I was paralyzed. Love you all and this board for that!
PS - Love all the new words above!
