Been a while since I have posted and as you can imagine, I have let things slide back to the way it was and I still do not have my air conditioning fixed. I do however have a new powerful A/C unit bought. I just need to trhow out everything and get it installed.
I have tried the decluttering myself but it overwhelms me and then the depression sets in. Then I become useless and nonresponsive. So I have decided to bite the bullet and take the help that my fiance has offered me. He has never seen it. I pray he doesn't leave me once it is all thrown out and cleaned up. He is a very hard worker and feels that we can get this decluttered in one or two days.
Pray that he has the compassion to help and stay with me. I do not know what I would do without him.
Also, Hi BTT hope you have been well!

Hi, just wanted to say I think it's great that your fiance wants to help. And it sounds like he will help you get alot done, so you will be able to install your new A/C. Wonderful! I'm sending you lots of hugs and encouraging thoughts. Also the prayers you requested, but it sounds like he's a good guy and wants to help, not judge. Let us know how it goes.

Hi -- I really think it's good that you are going to accept the help -- I think that it is very hard to admit to our loved ones when we need help but it's far better to do so than to suffer.... If he knows up front that you are embarrassed about this, you want it to change and you're committed to doing things different but you're in deep right now with it and need help -- that sort of attitude will go a long way. Plus you've been honest with him that it's a big mess -- you know so he knows. Now if you were not at this point of realizing that it's not really ok and if you didn't acknowledge that it's something that you want to change -- it should be scarier to him. It's just stuff and you are going to get rid of the mess - you just need help. I pray that he will want to help you because he loves you and that it will make your relationship even stronger. And I do think that after you get this cleaned up together it will give you a new strength and resolve to do whatever it takes to keep it that way you know. I really have faith in you. I remember from before about your A/C and it is definitely going to be great for you to get that in and move on from this difficulty. You go girl!!!

Thank you Chris and blessedpat for your support and kind words. I, like everyone else here, just want this done and over with. I want my old life back.

Looking at the whole job at once is depressing, so I'm glad you are getting help. It's also good to get the A/C in now, before the worst of the summer heat sets in. We've been without that in the heat, and it is misery.
Chris is right, if he is the man you think, he will be glad to know that you are ready to fight this, and will stand by you to fight with you.
You might want to tell him that his timeline is a bit optimistic. Depending on the disposal facilities you have, one or two days might not be enough unless you rent a Dumpster/tip, or a truck to haul loads to the dump or a donation center.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know how it goes.

Accept his help and love - and kudos - I do hope you can get it done fast - and with a nice guy as an incentive - you can do it - most guys wouldn't help - they would find other things to do. So get the job done - then get the ac on and working - then maybe you can redecorate together and build a new life.

He came He saw He worked .... like a mad man! Did not even raise an eyebrow when he walked through the door. He stayed and dug out for 6 hours. We threw out ...... **92** .... bags of stuff. He got WAY more done than I could ever have hoped for. He would have stayed longer and continued to work but we filled up the dumpster. (I live in a condo complex so my dumpster space is free - I just made a hog of myself .) I am to continue on throughout the week after work each day and he will run the bags down to the dumpster for me. They empty it on Tuesday so I will have a day of rest. We can now get to the air conditioner for replacement but will need some help lifting it in the wall (wall mounted window unit) and hope to have some help next weekend. When he called it a day he said to me "If you ever do something like this again I may very well kill you. Wanna go have dinner someplace?" I am one very lucky lady! Yes, he is a keeper!

Well btt if you were thinking of yourself you are terribly sweet to offer. My fiance is going to call my strong able bodied son to come down from St Charles next weekend and tell him that he HAS to help regardless of his plans. My son RARELY does anything for me unless I pay him. Grrrrrrrr

YAY!!!!! 92 bags! Thanks for the update! During a very long, hot day, I kept thinking of you and how it was going. So glad he's a keeper. I'm also happy that you will get your A/C in soon.
