“I don’t need it. I don’t want it.” Love this. There is always a deal to be had somewhere.Oh y-e-a-h, this is the one I most need to remember. It's out there, it's always out there - whatever it may be. Just don't go where it is.

Interesting and thank you for the link. It is not my problem as I actually have difficulty spending money which I have on things which I want and which most people would think reasonable - like a blind for the kitchen window, a pair of shoes (I have trainers and dress shoes and nothing between) etc.

Yes - don't look at ads online and I mute during commercials - because they suck you in with the sale or freebie item and want you in the store to shop.

MiSC, how is this going? I remember this was something you were working on--I'm hoping the things coming in to your house are becoming fewer than they were before?

This reminds me that I was going to have myself removed from LLBean's catalog mailing list. The other day on Oprah (she's rerunning her Debt Diet series) she said the only thing we need to say are 4 words prior to buying anything: Can I Afford This ......I put that in my spending record binder that I look in every few days to work thru our bills and spending. It seems to help. Basically if it's not food, gas or bill I probably can't afford it right now in light of the income/outgo/debt/situation.
