hi friends. i sure have missed chatting with you all. i have been doing quite well. my bedroom is liveable again. it still collects dirty clothes in the floor but its been "cleaned" for almost 2 months now! kitchen and living rooms are still works in progress. my sons room is about to be redone. he will be in our room while we rip the carpet out, put down wood like flooring, paint the walls and set up some organization in there. this means we will finally get to throw our the old couch section, old swival chair and the 2 dressers taking up so much of his room. i still fight with my laundry. so far that battle drives me nuts. mainly cause the clothes takeon any odor in the house before i can ever get them in the closet. any tips on that would be nice. but anyway, i will try and post to listzilla in the morning. i have a lot to do this wednesday. glad to be back. and ready to jump in feet first

Hey MLB, I'm glad you are back. You have accomplished much in the house. Laundry; wow . I always put on a load before I leave the house and when I get back I put it in the dryer and start another load. I have a rule, that when the load is dry -I fold it right away and put it up right away or hang it up on hangers. If I have something that is not getting used I put it in the donation bag .If an article of clothing is damaged I throw it away. As far as clothes smelling clean. Just splurge on some sweet smelling softner like Downey-it overpowers everything.

Welcome back.
Regarding the clothes taking on the odors of the house, here are a couple of ways to prevent that:
Take the clothes directly from the laundry to the closets.
Find and eliminate the odors in the rooms where the clothes are taking on the odors. Some odors, such as nicotine from cigarettes or pet urine are going to require a lot more work to eliminate than others.
As a temporary stopgap, you can try different odor absorbers. But they are only temporary.

Hello again, MLB!
Another suggestion -- get rid of a lot of those clothes! You probably don't need them all, and when you have so many that you can't put them away, they end up lying around making everything worse.
Eagle is right, though, you have to get rid of the odor at the source.
Good for you for all you have done!
