this morning as I was looking for ant spray...it was in same box as the ant spray so now when maintenance man comes and hooks things up for 220volt power at my stove I will be fully operational there. I had even cleaned the drip pans in dishwasher prior to moving. So hopefully today that guy comes and hooks the gas line up behind the dryer, makes the needed move of 220volt wire from behind dryer to behind the stove, and has the ability to hook up the water line for the ice maker in my fridge. I had ants at the dog food in the mud room. I poured salt along the floor at the door, after reading about use of salt for keeping ants out...then sprayed the entire door all the way around and anywhere I saw ants...killing them on contact. So hopefully I will no longer have ant problems in the mud room by the back door where I feed the dogs. hugs lucky

Once ants have a trail to a good food source they will try to use it again and again, so stay on top of that as much as you can.
Good for finding your stove drip pans and burners! Nothing like a good working kitchen to make a house a home.

I discovered that ants don't like swimming. So I put the cat's food dish into a bowl inside of a larger baking dish - which I then filled with water. His munchies now are protected by a moat. No more ants in the food!

the maintenance man came and measured for everything to be done and will purchase things he needs and come back another day...so no stove tonight and no dryer either....the ice maker is a tray in the freezer that I have been getting cubes from.

60, I use that and I recommend it all the time! Great way to keep the food safe without chemicals around the pets. Lucky, I am looking forward to hearing all about your first home cooked meal!

well you might have missed it...did BBQ several times already...but stove cooked Nope...not yet...want my microwave too...it is sitting on floor in kitchen buried alive....and the thing is it needs to mount onto the wall above the stove...and I have to remove a hood they have there...that is directly wired into the wall...so I have not begun that one yet...plus they moved it once before without painting under where it had been so the wall needs a coat of paint before I put up my microwave too....more work... but I am getting some stuff going....today I hung my bedroom wall mirror...I had purchased hooks for it that would support the weight...put them on wall today and moved the mirror from living room and hung it...it stayed put did not fall which is good sign as it is large mirror...but I hung it at just the lowest I could and still get the top of my head in the mirror, which I am disappointed about...I would have liked it up three to six more inches...but I goofed on where to put the hangers...it has a really heavy wire hanger across the back....plus I am missing in house somewhere the center medallion that goes in big opening on top...it is just a gold toned decoration but I cannot seem to locate it...I know it is here in box somewhere.... hugs lucky

need windex to clean my mirror too...it is dirty but nothing that I cannot handle...when I find the windex I will wipe it down and keep it clean...I promise! I put it by the door to the kitchen....that was the only place I had available and actually it is pretty good where I have it. will be walking by it all the time going to kitchen or bathroom.

We've been battling ants too -- my DH must have read the same thing about salt -- just today he took off with my salt from the kitchen and spread it around my kitties bowl. But I like 60s idea of the moat wow -- I'm gonna try that for my outdoor kitty.
Lucky - I'm glad you found the burners and pans! I noticed they were missing in one of the pictures you posted.

In oven this minute is a lasagna boxed from Aldi...when it gets close to done I have a garlic bread to do with it and way before it is done I need to dig out a pot to put the water for my corn on cob into so I can have corn, bread, and lasagna as well as the store bought twice baked potato salad that I got tonight....I am good and hungry because it is almost 9:30pm and I did not really have good meals today at all...bag of chips left overs for lunch and end of cookie bag for breakfast....and I am diabetic...

Lucky is a slopahaunnis if you know German terms....I spilled my lasagna on to my bed tonight.....so now I have bigger better reason to get the washing machine going to clean my laundry.
I found that the hose from the washer has become useless as it is now corroded and will not allow me to turn the screw ends to place it on the washer...just one of the two...the other is fine....so I have got to buy new one soon just one washer hose...I think they are usually sold in pairs....I may have to buy two to get the one I need....uggg
