The good news is I have a girl interested in buying one of my model horses that is listed for sale. She has money in her Paypal account ready to transfer as soon as I tell her how much to add for shipping. That will be nice to have $400 to add to my son's car fund.
The bad news is the horse is not on display because he is not one of my favorites. Before the organizer came I knew which boxes were horse boxes and which were crafts and such. But now the organizer has stacked boxes to the ceiling in my office and I have no clue what is in them. Plus my back is hurting so I am going to need my son to help me go through the boxes to find the horse.
GAH!!!!!!

Ouch! In some ways a great problem to have, as the money will come in handy. In others, a huge mess.
Good luck, may you find it in the first box, not the last!

I looked through three boxes and now I am mad. She put two models in with not-soft stuff like calendars and wooden organizer and didn't even wrap the horses. I told her not to touch the horses but she didn't listen. Also found some very soiled clothing mixed in with clean stuff. What kind of organizer does this? She had said she wanted to come out and show me a new organizing system she thought might help me and I think I will ask her to help me find the horse so she will realize what a cluster f*ck she has created. Organizer!!?!

The problem is that just about anybody can claim to be an "organizer" these days. Unless you have seen their previous work or gotten references who are not coached, you don't know. Even some with certification of some sort are not that great, and who certified them?
She might be a good one to lose quickly.

I dont understand how you posted it up for sale without having it in hand- to take a photo of and describe.

I packed it away (or she did) after pics. I have a dozen horses for sale right now but not all are on display in my house.

I guess my question would be -- why did you list them as for sale when you couldn't put your hands on them right away? I know, for myself, I'd never do that because I might never be able to find the item I'm trying to sell. That's just the way this house is. What if you can't find it? Or what if it's broken when you do find it? Won't that affect your feedback? (We're talking eBay, right? If it's Craigslist then it doesn't matter.)

That's great that someone is interested in buying one of your horse models. I hope you can sell them all. Yeah, I'd probably invite the organizer out (provided she came for free, or with someone else paying the tab) to help you find it, and see what a hash she made of boxing things up. It sounds as though you and your son should go through the boxes anyway, wrap the horses, label stuff, remove what shouldn't be there, and organize for real, after the "organizer" leaves. Good luck to you!

Hi OMG, I am sorry you have to look in so many boxes to find the horse, that is a complete pain. But there's no way around it, is there... unless you advise the buyer that the horse is inaccessible at the moment, and be really apologetic etc. It would be a shame to not have the money though!
I think that in your place I would stand in front of that stack of boxes and close my eyes and relax and tell myself that I will "find" the right box magically and then I would reach out and touch the box that "felt" right in my mind. And open that one. And think either "Wow, that was amazing, I got the right box first time!! Must buy a lottery ticket!" Or think "Well! So much for THAT silly idea! ".
Either way, you will have started looking and you will either have found it in the first box, or not. If it isn't in there, which I imagine you will be able to see pretty quickly, whack some tape on it to close it up again and quickly write on the front of the box in big letters something that will remind you of what's in there - eg clothes, papers, ornaments etc - and move to the next box.
Resist the urge to resort or re-organise the boxes, because your aim is to FIND THAT HORSE. Try the "magic" selection technique again, to stop it being too serious... and I hope you find it quickly. The good thing is, that after you have found it, at least some of the boxes will have written on them what is inside, which will be a help to you at some future time.
Personally I wouldn't bother with having anything more to do with that organiser, as you already know she isn't competent to follow your instructions or pack things properly!
Regards, Lizzie

I hope you can find it.. maybe in the future, the organizer or you can go through and put all horses in specific boxes and label them "just horses". Atleast there is a 400$ motivation to find it. Happy Hunting.

Wow, all of these years I have been an organizer. My stuff is all in boxes that have a mish mash of stuff in them. I am going throught them to clean out and move now, but I did not know I was like this organizer. I am sorry you are not able to put your hands on your stuff. It must be so frustrating. I know that I would need the money from the sales. Hope you find the horse soon and it is in great shape to send to the buyer.
