Take off the sheets, wash them. Vacuum the mattress while the sheets are laundering. Do not eat in bed.....repeat until ants are gone. ALSO: Put down some Combat ant baits. I used to get ants every spring in the kitchen at the old house. I put these down and they took care of it every year. I even did it early this past spring in anticipation of the ants and never saw one....THEY WORK.

I've had that happen to me quite a few times. Just put an ant bait or two on the bed and they should be gone in about an hour. Also spray around the bed, but not until you let the ant bait do its job first.

The few times I've had ants in my house I had luck by washing away the scent trail that they lay down to signal other ants that there's a food source nearby. If you scrub with some kind of cleaner along the floor and baseboards on the side that they are coming from, you may stop them that way. Of course, if you keep eating in bed they will just lay down a new trail towards all those delicious crumbs!

You've cursed me! I came home, and what did I find? Ants on the floor in front of my bed!!!!!!!!!
I haven't had to deal with that in ages!
I have no ant spray and didnt want to tell the landlady, so I sprayed them with Febreeze and they all drowned.
It has been super hot here the last few days, so that is why they all came in.
Urk!

Ants tend to hate vinegar. I use it often to rid my kitchen of ants. My kids are like crumb machines. Last invasion I took a spray bottle and filled it with about equal parts vinegar and water, and added a squirt of dish soap. Shook it up a bit to mix, then squirted the trail with it. Ants have been gone for over a week, despite yet more crumbs. (Did I mention my kids are messy? )

Once I came home from vacation and there was a hotdog, which was moving. It was covered with ants!

I'm having the same problem - ants everywhere. Windex does discourage them a bit, without being too toxic. I tried that for a week. They aren't just after food though, it's water too, and I have no air conditioning so if it's hot, they just dash into the house and assault the sink faucets. I finally gave in yesterday and accepted some Raid that was offered. I sprayed two spots just outside the house where you can see armies entering. When I woke up this morning, they had found a new way to get into the kitchen sink - they seemed to crawl right INTO the drain!

A line of chili powder where they come in will stop them (they won't cross it). Personally, I wouldn't spray my bed, but getting rid of the food in that area, combined with an ant trap and the chili powder should take care of it.

Make sure to wash all your bedding in hot water. My Grandmother repelled ants by placing cucumber peels on the floor, near walls, where ants get in. Totally organic. They won't rot. They just dry out.
