Hi Hu,
You know, if you can get one area of your life (garbage service situation) under control, you might be surprised how much easier it is to get control of other things. For me, it was the GIANT pile of dirty laundry (and I do mean GIANT--like 5 1/2 feet tall and spreading in every direction). Once I got rid of that (washing, donating, tossing), it seemed to spur me on to take care of the rest of the awful messes that had developed at Chez Moggyfan.
Now that the house is more-or-less clean and clear, keeping it that way is so much easier than it was before. (I know what your husband means about how difficult it is to "pick up" even a small area if there's just nowhere to put the things!)
I hope you're able to somehow restore your garbage collection soon! Good luck.

I am working on the garbage thing... it turned out to be kind of complicated- they had sent the bill to collections of course, and so now it's in a strange kind of limbo- I need to sort that out still, it is going slow. I have some awesome friends tho, who have offered to just come GET the trash for me, and take it to the dump for me, on thier tab- which is freaking amazing... I kept this a secret even from my friends untill only a short while ago! I am super-uber-grateful for thier offers, and have been tacking the issues klnowing that if I get a buncha trash in a pile outside, they will help me get rid of it.

Oh, that is so nice, Hu! Friends are great, but friends who offer a practical helping hand are fabulous!
