Ugh. What a doozy of a subject line!
We have an ongoing roach problem. The little German kind, hard to kill, and they like to get into electronics.
With the move we have planned, we are taking as little as possible with us that is in this house but there are some things I really cannot afford to replace right now... such as 3 flat panel computer monitors and the TV (regular old big kind) in my sons' room.
Actually the TV I might be able to part with since those are found these days easily enough for under $30 at thrift stores and garage sales.. so if it has to go it won't be a biggie. I can't replace those monitors right now though, even used, they'd be about $75 a piece.
Hmmm. So I am wondering if there is a good way to get the stupid roaches OUT and avoid transferring them to the new place? Without ruining the monitors?

I'd try sealing them in a big plastic bag with some kind of bug bomb/bug spray (not sprayed inside the machinery). Leave them sealed there for awhile.

Take them to a repair place and have them clean them out. You may need to have all the roach detritus removed as well (poop, carapace, egg cases, etc.) for them to remain functioning.

find a secluded spot like a garage or storage shed *making sure that no children or pets can get to it* and put the monitors and tv on the ground then spray a thick line of bug spray all around each item. on the outside of the spray you can put something like small pieces of cat food or small pieces of banana or whatever that would attract roaches. leave overnight. be astounded in the morning by all the dead bugs that have come out and died. this can be repeated as needed with fresh spray laid down each time.
then when you move you can use some of those roach motel traps near each item and/or you can get double-sided sticky tape and lay that down around each item so that when the eggs hatch the roaches will either get stuck on the tape or die in the motel.
