Will be gone until mid-afternoon, and since it's going to be really hot I'll probably have to sit in front of a fan to cool off when I get home. Internet is weird again this morning, but then--it was yesterday morning too, but worked fine the whole rest of the day, so who knows.
Hopefully it will let me come back this afternoon.

Well, not much point in posting my list now other than consistency, but I did so anyway!
I spent a good part of the day at my sister's, then did a cat care visit on the way home. Today was supposed to be anywhere from 7 to 10 degrees cooler than yesterday, but it turned out to be the same high as yesterday. The trains and buses were air conditioned but I did a dog walk while at her house, and also helped her with a couple of things outside, so I was really hot. It's still hot at this hour although we're supposed to have storms later to cool things down. My apartment has been closed up tight since it started to get warmer Sunday morning, so it's only 80 in here. I'm waiting for that storm.
I have a few book things I have to do tonight, so I'm going to work on that and try to get to bed early. The next 2 days are going to be busy ones for me, so will feel lucky to get just a little bit done each day.

Your list sounds busy. I'm lucky if I can get half that done in a day. You're awesome! Have a great day.

Hi Pamela, HA--yes, it would be great if I got everything done on my list, but that pretty much never happens! It just helps me if I keep it all in one place, then I can move the stuff to the next day when I have to!
I noticed that you're faithfully posting lists too--I think it really helps to keep reviewing what we still need to do.
Thanks for stopping by!

I'm sort of in limbo here, I was supposed to do a dog walk when I got back from my clerical gig today, but the client wasn't home, so I did my cat care visit and called again, no luck. So now I have to wait around for her to come home and then do the walk--I hope she doesn't get home too late, I already have a walk scheduled for 5:30.
This is where I waste time because I feel like I shouldn't get started on anything because it'll be interrupted. Which is silly, because I usually work on 10 minute jobs anyway! I guess it' more of a mental thing, once I throw myself into starting I don't want to be interrupted.
Maybe I can make myself set my timer for 8 minutes and see what I can get done.

Hi, Diane. The 8-min thing always helps me. Good luck in getting all your dog walks in today. The client didn't let you know she'd be gone?

The client didn't let you know she'd be gone?
Well, we didn't have a set time for me to come--I had one of my occasional clerical jobs this morning and I never know when I'm going to get out of those--but it's usually between 11 and 1 and today I got out at noon. I had told this client that I'd call her no later than 1, and she didn't mention anything about possibly not being home then.
This is an older woman who is home most of the time, but she has a young dog and can't walk him as much as he needs, so she's my one remaining daily walk. Since she's home to let him out in the back yard, the time of day I come doesn't matter, it's an exercise walk rather than a mid-day "potty" walk. So we actually try to be flexible with each other's schedules. I was just surprised that she didn't tell me that she planned to be out in the afternoon, she usually does if she knows she has an appointment or something.
It's funny, I used to be pretty rigid with my schedules, I didn't like doing anything on the spur of the moment or not knowing what my day was going to be like. Since I started doing this pet care, I NEVER know what my day is going to be like--I get last minute calls all the time.

I think I did okay today, since I didn't have much outside work. These are the only days I can get a lot done--when I have a lot of walks I just never have the energy to do anything else.
The cool weather helps--we have one more really cool day, and they've moderated the temp for the weekend, they were originally saying 90s and now it's 80s, so that's good news.
Tomorrow I'll be busy from early morning but as of right now I have nothing scheduled after about 2pm, so possibly another productive afternoon.
