Thanks for the links Lioness.
Gosh. I looked at Aslett's website, it has changed a lot since I last looked, and is now totally devoted to selling Aslett and his products.
He must have become a victim of his own success since he first wrote 'Is there a life after housework' This must have been published in the early 80's or before. I'm not at home so I can't look up when my edition was published.
Maybe I will have to rethink recommending him if later versions have become so objectionable.

This was my first experience with Kindle. I found out that I can copy the text into Word, which is fantastic. Then I can pinpoint segments, highlight, enlarge font, print out. I've read Felton's books, been on her daily Organizer Lady email list, been on her Friends of the Organizer Lady list (not that I've read those for years since finding SS and SOOS), yet reading some of the book felt new to me. Like the part about boundaries and how Messies have a hard time with boundaries, both giving of themselves too much perhaps and spreading themselves too thin, and in the boundaries they give objects.
edited to fix all the typing errors!

I find it strange Don Aslett is disliked so much.
I have clutter's last stand (80's version) and re-read it every time i need a little motivation to get rid of stuff. I find him totally correct, if direct to the point of harshness. If i was overweight I think I'd find the harshness too hard to take. I can totally understand that. and I forgave him for that becuase he was a man, in the 1980's, they didn't undertand weight loss issues then. But otherwise? I find his tone was great. He often noted his own things he had trouble parting with, I don't find him "not one of us".
Now Peter Walsh? if all the comments about Don aslett above were for peter walsh? THAT would make more sense. He's a jerk.

If Aslett motivates you, that's good. I think whomever, whatever helps you achieve your goals is good. His approach is just not for me.

This was my first experience with Kindle. I found out that I can copy the text into Word, which is fantastic. Then I can print out segments, highlight, enlarge font, print out. There is also a button to enlarge the font right on the Kindle or Kindle for PC. That's what finally sold me over to eReaders. I love that feature. It even made me change the font size of reading everything on my computer. The only reason we had to read things in 12 pt size was to save paper, so we wouldn't be walking around with 800 page books & documents. But, with electronic "ink" we can read things in any size we want. I purposely use Firefox as my web browser as it has a feature to enlarge web pages & fonts.
