Working to do 5 things, throw away/put away 10 things, work for 15 minutes on unpleasant activity I have been putting off... So far, my 5's are: --Got kiddos off to school --I put dog out for potty time --put water down for cat --opened all windows for fresh air --got dressed (pretty much- i do have sandals and a regular shirt, but my pants are technically pajama pants ) my 10 things to toss/put where they belong -put rechargable batteries on charger -threw away torn bags that were unusable -threw away plastic spoon -put bleachy dish water in my two pitchers to clean and soak, threw out old tea bags i had left in them -put phone on charge -put plates that someone put on floor for cat in sink -put away good plastic bags from store to reuse -put away dry goods groceries that never made it past table last night -put towels and cleaner under sink until later -put away coffee accessories, just as easy to reach into cabinet as on counter so next the 15--- I still need to do 15 minutes of laundry related things, like start laundry and then fold what I can in that time (should have folded while watching the grey's Anatomy premiere!!!) Back in a bit!

I love your new strategy and can't wait to join you when I am feeling better. I have been sick the last few days. I was curious about your list of dollars to offset staying at home instead of working. Would you care to share? If I think of anything to add, I'll let you know. I saw a news thing on someone who was really saving tons of money the way she did her grocery shopping...using coupons and specials. I think her whole family of at least 4 were being fed on very little dollars. I wish I knew exactly how to do that. CD

- Hi Vivre ! I've been doing a "desqualoring-word-theme-of-the-day" challenge on the main board. I was thinking I would do a number challenge today, instead of a word challenge -- just for fun. I decided on the number 5, but wasn't sure. And then I read this thread, and I decided that "FIVE" was definitely supposed to be the "desqualoring word of the day". Here's that thread (which you of course have already fulfilled): takeonestepatatime.proboards80.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1933Hugs, Lioness -

Vivre---I don't know if you are here today or not, but suddenly feel discombobulated & thought of your thread that I read when I was sick. I think that I need to do something different today at least for a while. I hope that you or someone else will join me...
So, let's see how does this work... Hmmm. (CD's scrolling down to read your first post on this thread).
Let's see 5/10/15. 5--things to do. 10 things to throw away/put away 15 minutes of unpleasant activity I've been putting off... hmmm. that may just change to do stuff for 15 minutes & set timer...
Okay, will be back to post 5 things that I've done.
Vivre--I hope that you don't mind that I am joining in on your wonderful thread.

Okay, I finally did 5 things...was truly procrastinating.
5 things DONE: 1)gave meds to puppy 2)finished unloading dishwasher from yesterday or day before (forgot which) 3)emptied kitchen trash, sprayed can & replaced bag 4)folded/hung load of laundry-- got DPuppy to hand me things from the dryer. At first she did like 5 or 6 socks in a row, then she decided she wanted a treat for all that work and refused to do anything else cause she wanted a treat. I told her, "Okay, I'll give you a treat. Take and give to Momma". She came over to the dryer from the table & took another sock from the dryer & gave it to me. So, of course, I gave her a treat. Then, she did it again & again a couple more times but each time I had to give her a treat, unlike when we first started... Now, How do I get her off having to give her a treat for each time she hands me something. Hmmmm. I'm open to suggestions.
Then, she snuck out a dirty glove that is waiting to be washed and took that to the den. I asked her what she was doing and to put it back. She walked with me back into the laundry area & put it down but then took it back. I told her to leave it & she finally did. But, I can tell she really wants those gloves.... Well, they were really cheap gloves like under $2.00 for gardening. So, I won't make a big deal if I find them torn up... 5)moved load from washer into dryer
Okay, that's my 5 things done.
Next is put 10 things away or throw away.

1)put load of laundry away 2)put 5 bottles into recycle bag 3)put 3 bags of trash into outside can 4)put 3 bags of recyclable bottles/jars into outside can 5)put away plastic spoon 6)car charger for cell phone that has been sitting on kitchen table for almost a week--put on top of my purse for when i leave later. First, I opened the container & cut tag off & threw trash away. 7)opened box of kleenex that's been sitting on chair in den for over a week and put it on top of my purse to go in my car. 8)put empty pill bottle into trash 9)put 3 meds into bathroomcloset 10)put empty cereal box into recycle bag 11)put piece of paper with old notes on it into recycle bag
Also, did 15 minutes...
10 minutes spent walking DAngelDog and self Another 30 spent trying to walk with puppy.

Going to be working in your thread, again, Vivre. I really liked it yesterday, although I only did one round...
So: 5 = things to do 10 = things put away/throw away 15 = minutes doing something I've procrastinated on & don't want to do... which is most anything, since I am a master-procrastinator" AND unless it is fun like reading, watching a movie, going to karaoke, throwing a ball around, dancing, playing a game, going to a play, going to an event (fair, show, anything), --- in otherwords FUN! then I don't want to do it... What can I say? I'm a bum.

Did 5 things: 1)folded/hung Load of laundry 2)put Load in washer 3)washed all dishes, casserole, and a pot 4)washed dogfood bowl 5)washed about 1/3 of kitchen table.
Got so carried away doing 5 things, decided to do 5 more: 1)washed top of stove 2)washed front & top of microwave, and knobs. 3)washed refrigerator door handles 4)washed top of toaster 5)washed a couple sink counters
Next was put away/throw away 10 things: 1)empty sack that was hanging from a hook in laundry area for a week & a half -- put in recycle bag. 2)a small sack that has been on my sink counter for about a month -- put in recycle bag 3)2 papers that DD printed & left on Kitchen table -- put in recycle bag. 4)stuffed toy from a kids meal that hwas been on kitchen table for a week & 1/2 -- put into giveaway bag 5)pack of gum that was on kitchen table for a week & a half that was given to DD but she never put away -- took it to her & told her to put it away, she did (I think). 6)already folded/hung load of laundry -- gave to DS for him to put away since they were his. He put some away & put a stack on his bed. 7)5 bottles/jars -- put in recycle bag ***noticed DS had put 10 bottles into recycle bag all from his bedroom!!! Yay, DS!!! He did leave the lids on them & they want us to remove those as they said they cannot recycle them. So, I did that. I didn't think that I should say anything to him about that right now... I have told the kids in the past, but obviously he had not even been putting them in recycle bag. 8)10 lids from bottles in recycle bag -- put in trash can. 9)picked up some dog hair from kitchen floor & put in trash can. Did this 3X!!!!!!! 10)grocery list that had been on kitchen table for over a week -- put on refrigerator with new list.
I still need to do something for 15 minutes... I've been procrastinanting on this one... Here goes. CD
