Farewell to what's left of my set of Oneida Antares flatware. When I was getting ready to get married, back in the early 80's, it seemed important to get nice stainless silverware in a pattern that reflected who I was. I wanted something unique. I bought it in small batches as I had the money, from Bamberger's. Well, it was unique alright. At some point I researched the pattern and found out it was only made for about 3 years. When I started losing pieces to the same place where lost socks go, I found out it wouldn't be easy or cheap to buy replacement pieces. A few years ago, for a big wedding anniversary, I bought DH and myself a big new set of Oneida flatware in a pattern that's been around forever, so I could be sure of being able to get replacements if needed. It's boring, and common as dirt, and I don't care. The whole set cost less than trying to fill in the old one through Ebay or Replacements.
Earlier today I was looking at my cousin's online wedding registry, and then I just found the receipt from buying our new set--over 3 years ago. Somehow all of a sudden I'm willing to let the old stuff go to Goodwill.

I went through coffee table detritus this morning and threw away receipts and junk mail. I bought some new t-shirts and found three to get rid of. The trash can is full, so it's time to gather it up and take it to the dumpster.

We have got rid of TONS of stuff this last month! Due to a flooding problem in our main bathroom, our entire house got turned upside down. We are in the final stretch of the remodel. But we still have MASS AMOUNTS of stuff to go thru! Perfect time to purge is when you start moving things from one area to another and wonder, "Why the heck do I have this?" "Oh this is absolute garbage!"
Items I recall parting with --- child's toy kitchen (sold) PS2 and games (sold) bunk beds (sold) old purses clothes tons of old computer software tons and tons of paper computer bits and pieces (don't ask me -- that's all hubby) tons of trash from garage 1 large yard size garbage bag of stuffed animals (proud of 10 yo for parting with them) several large boxes of toys large trash sack of broken toys
Probably lots more.

Cleaned out the freezer above the fridge and threw out some things that I couldn't identify.
