???Ok, here goes: Kitchen Clean up List of DO IT! 1. Go into the kitchen and remove any dishes in the two porcelain white sinks. 2. Put some Palmolive in the sinks and run hot water and clean and rinse each sink out to begin dish washing. 3. Run real hot water in left hand sink with dish soap and fill the right sink with real hot rinse water. 4. Put in glasses, then the cups, then the silverware in the wash water. Wash these, rinse, drain and put away. CHANGE THE WASH AND RINSE WATER, KEEPING THE WATER HOT IN EACH SINK. 5. REST!

I have the glasses, cups, silverware and plates done air dried and put up. I will work on the bowls and pans next. And oh yes, I emptied the four pullout drawers by my stove and the things that I do not use I dumped into a trash box and ran it to the trash outside JUST before the trashman came. Horrors at the mouse turds etc. (I have three cats) that look like their worthless in their job....I now have the traps set and I and my hubby are listening for "the sound"!
I hope to have the dishes all done and put up at the end of the day. I am very short, so will arrange the dishes so I'm not climbing the stool all the time.
In between breaks, i'm reading what you guys put here! This Forum is awesome!

Hooray for clean dishes!
Hooray for short people, too! I am tired of my 6'2" Sweetie telling me, "But it's right here within reach!" when I am 5'0" and the "it" in question is on a top shelf .
You are doing awesome.

First thing in the morning, I will clear out the top cabinet across the kitchen to the refridgerator. Here is my question: I HAVE SOOOO MANY COOKBOOKS AND CUT OUT RECIEPES AND TORN OUT PAGES OF RECIPIES AND RCIPIES I'VE WRITTEN DOWN......hOW IN THE HECK DO I CHOOSE 5 OR 6 OF THEM? Please give me your suggestions on this matter as I want to start on it early tomorrow morning. This is going to be tough.......I'M SO ATTACHED!!!!!!!!!!!! Then it's on to the bottom cupboards.....and these are a real disaster.......not with food........but with everything else under the sun!!!! I really hate to even think about this! Then, when all the cabinets are emptied and cleaned....only then will I paint the kitchen top and bottom cabinets. I have chosen powder blue. When this dries I will then "pull" a darker blue color straight down to look like the color of denim pants. I will have to get the instructions off the internet. I ran across it one day and the results were beautiful! It looked just like denim! This is my plan....I do not know how long it will take me to empty the cabinets, but believe me, I'm going to share with you how horrible it will be, but with success in the end!

The powder blue and denim look sounds really pretty. A nice finishing touch for someone who has worked very hard. Margarita

Hmmm. I will look a little more here on the boards to see how to de clutter the cookbooks. I'm enjoying my morning coffee from the oh so brite coffeepot...I actually taste the coffee..like a restaurant on a cold morning. I know that I have a lot of cleaning items etc in those cabinets, top and bottom- so when I come to them I'll put them in a box. I guess this is what I should do with the cookbooks to decide, but I'm afraid that the cookbook will just stay there. I have tried to part with them before and gave up in frustration. This is a real concern for me. The devil in me says "Keep a few" BUT that little fairy that does nothing says"Look at the cookbook colection and remember all those receipes you can use! Keep 'em all, stupid!"

Carrie: The level site you posted was great. I have now written down your "Carries Kitchen Project List" and the ones that pertain to my kitchen. I can now check off the *dishes cupboard, *Pantry, *Wraps and foil, *Under stove top/Tin Foiled, *Counters, Left and right of sink.
This now gives me a guideline...If I can do a little at a time on one item till it gets done, I think I can make it. I don't want to set a time, Just when I get it done, i'll check it off. On some of the other items they pertain to my dining room AND I DON'T EVEN WANT TO GO THERE YET OR IN THE NEAR FUTURE! It's my dumping area for all stuff that doesn't belong or i don't want in any other rooms....YES, I have a beautiful large rectangular slick white table with a super thick beveled glass top in there somewhere. One day, I'd like to see it again!

I placed my 25 cookbooks in between my bread box and my Fat Ceramic Waiter. I organized them according to height. I do a lot of scratch cooking to keep my grocery bill low. I have now emptied my refridgerator out of the mean green food and outdated dates on things. All top cabinets are painted in the powder blue, including the stove hood. The freezer was emptied of a whole mess of gross leftovers etc.- I must now buy meat to fill it. Some how I don't think I can do a whole room very fast.... I am waiting for the trash to run on Friday before starting the lower cabinets.
