This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!
I need this today!
Tadas: Got son up, fed, and to school on time He had his library book. Great to know were some things are now! Took 3 things out of living room and put them away.
Todo: Shower Make our lunch Get to work

Today I feel a little low, the news, my cat getting sick, my lack of a job, my relationship seeming to be ending. A lot of things not so great. I'm not terrible though, really not. So the list: 1) finish photos for client and upload 2)do light colored laundry 3)cook a batch of seitan and clean up afterwards. Update with TaDa's: Started the Seitan, mostly done with the cleaning up, working on one more kitchen thing then will completely clean up. When I was pulling out all the spices, I found some things in the cabinets I could throw away. Old dried food and spices. Big plastic picnic plates that I've had for three years and have not thrown out because I worried about the environment. They are covered in dust and dirt and I finally chucked them!. Chucked some spoiled food from fridge, and containers that were too far gone to clean. I wiped down one shelf which had lots of dirt on it and replaced things in all three shelves pretty neatly!

Hey Sapphire, thanks!
The cat has ongoing chronic health problems. Starting with bladder stones that keep forming, she's had two surgeries to remove them so far. And she hates a high protein diet which is good for her urine PH, she wants dry food and carbs in any form, including trying to eat my bread!
About 2 years ago she had sudden unexplained kidney failure and was hospitalized to the the tune of over 4 grand. It was around the time of the petfood poisoning scandal, but I can't be sure what caused it because she didn't eat the named foods i don't believe.
Since then she's been diagnosed with diabetes, which also becomes asymptomatic when she's not eating dry food. And she doesn't even need her pills at those times. When it acts up, such as now it's usually when she's had some carbs and the sugar in her urine seems to feed whatever lingering bacteria are in her bladder and she starts having symptoms from the stones.
I can't have the stones removed every year, it's not practical for her healthwise or me financially. Also removing them doesn't to stop them from forming again. So we wait for them to become really bad symptomatically and then do a surgery. Right now I'm going to try and get some antibiotics, and see if I can calm down her symptoms. I can't afford a big vet bill right now. I have no health insurance myself.

Awwwww the poor little mite. I sympathise. One of my cats has urinary problems. He's had stones a couple of times. It first happened when he was just 9 months old. He's on a special dry dietary urinary food. Which luckily he loves! Unfortunately, in his circumstances (being male) when he gets the beginnings of crystals forming, he has to be operated on immediately or he would die. Thank heavens for pet insurance. All my animals are insured. I couldn't afford to keep them if I had to fork out vet fees everytime they were ill!! One of mine has had approx £8k worth of surgery, tests and meds in the past 4 years, what with one thing and another! Are you in the uk? Do you have a Blue Cross surgery nearby? If not, you can ask either them or the RSPCA to help you with the cost of taking your cat to the vet, as it sounds like an emergency. They helped me with my first cat, before I realised the importance of insurance. Sounds like you're really going through the ringer! As important as your WITs are, make sure you take some time for you!! ((Big hugs))

I totally wish I had gotten pet insurance when I could have. I had my other pets before it was available and they had so much expensive end of life care, that I couldn't afford to get insurance for the little one. Now she's not going to be able to get it. Oh well, next pet for suuure.

Oh the poor kitty. My brother's dog has kidney issues from the tainted food. Thankfully she is OK for now. I completely understand how hard it is when your "baby" is sick. My doggie had a severe ear infection. Shitzus are sometimes prone to it due to the hair in and around their ears. Of course mine is one of them. I wish I had gotten the pet insurance when he was a puppy. I encourage everyone who gets a new pet to get it for them. Sorry about your relationship difficulties. So my list is now complete. I got a shower. Made lunch and am now at work. Revised Todos: Payroll Banking Attack Bill Drawer

Whew! I finally got in! I blame the lack of access to WIT for all my lack of accomplishment for 2 days. LR got done yesterday. I have kitchen, dining rm, and family rm to do before Monday night. Friday's TA DA's and TO DO's put down cleaned dog plastic and covers on LR floor pick up shoes in fm rm and put away 10 min cutting dog hair (would do more but he bites) wash and fold load of towels wash fleece 'throws' grocery to get sale apples make hair appt clean sliding glass door clear and clean1 counter in kitchen iron and put up valance over slider wash old valance Well that's all for today. It's not enough, but it's better than I would have done if I hadn't started TO DO's and TA DA's

Everyone seems to be doing great today!
I'm done with my list except I still need to go to the laundromat and get the clothes out of the dryer and fold. Also have a bunch of new dirty dishes, and a full dish drainer, so that has to be handled tonight still.
Yay everyone!

I made another post about it in the General Forum, but for the sake of continuity, I did the things I wrote above. I also did the last of the tidying.

Didn't get my drawer or all the bills done. Payroll of course took longer than it should have. And it being Friday everything went backwards. At least I know what my 3 list will have on it Monday.
