I've been trying really hard this past week to do more during the day when I'm home. See, when I get home from work in the morning, I feed/water the dog and bird, then put my stuff away and I go to sleep for anywhere between 2 to 3 hours. Then I get up. My son has classes in the morning and a part-time job in the afternoon but the bus schedule around here isn't very good so he can't make it unless I pick him up and drive him to work. (He doesn't drive because he doesn't like to. Anxiety thing which I can understand.) Anyway, later on I pick him up after work so we can eat dinner together then after dishes are done and all that I go back to sleep for another 2 to 3 hours. But in between the drop-off and pick-up I have 3 hours. I have been trying so hard to do more things in this time so on Saturday I can just kick back and not have to work so hard. And yet here again I have a list of things to do and man it's hard getting going this morning! I took a pain med yesterday evening so I could sleep and boy did I sleep! 14 hours and I got up once during the night to go potty then came on here for a short bit. Even with all that sleep I am dragging myself around today and I don't feel like doing anything. These are things done: got up. Major accomplishment today! got dinner started in the crock pot fed/watered dog and bird, let dog out/in made bed rebooted laundry already in dryer started new load took dry clothes out and put in wet clothes put away clothing ate breakfast Things to do: back to the grocery store to get things I forgot stop at pet store bathe dog put clean dishes away from last night put away dry clothes start another load of laundry dinner feed dog feed fish dishes garbage out make a decision* *Here's the biggy; I need to make a decision on what to do with some of that stuff in the closet(s). Recently I gave away a good coffee maker, some VHS tapes, a stuffed dragon from the disney store, candles, other stuff too. I've been very good on this! This is a big deal to me as I hoard things I want, need or may need in the future. Thanks to this site I've been doing really well IMO even though it is still hard!! But I need, really need to decide what to do with an old iMac computer with personal data on it and two Barbie dolls still in their packages. The iMac still works and could be a back up for this one should I have a problem. But of course, would it still work good enough because things are constantly changing with computers and the OS is old on that computer and that computer cannot be upgraded?? Are the Barbie's something worth keeping? Will they have value in the future? They are in excellent condition but they are in the closet and even though I like them I never, ever look at them so what are they really doing for me?

Hi HeyLady1: I still have my old Barbie and Ken from 1962. Got rid of all their clothes and have always regretted it. There is always room for one or two Barbies, as they are small. As far as the iMac goes, if you decided you don't want it - you can reformat and reinstall the operating system and sell it on Craig's List. Did you know for my Birthday earlier this year I found an old, old, old iMac on Craigslist and was the happiest person in the world! It is one of the old CRT one piece "flavored" iMacs and I was so, so, thrilled to find it!!!!! Yeah, it's slow and it's really old - but, it was the only iMac I could afford and I smile every time I look at it. Even bought a new desk for it! Just love my little old sweet iMac! And, every time I go to a garage sale, I look for a ten year old keyboard to match it! But, have never found one. So, believe me - there are many, many people around who would be absolutely thrilled with your unwanted iMac. The guy on Craigslist that I bought mine from had done a complete reformat and reinstalled the operating system for me. So, none of his personal info. was on it. Maybe a computer savvy relative or friend could tell you in person how to do that. I know how to do that on Windows, but not on a Mac. Margarita

Thanks Margarita!! I think I'm going to keep the Barbies and see if my son can reinstall the OP for me on the iMac. IF he can then I will either sell it or give it away. If he can't then maybe I'll just hang onto it a bit longer. We are an Apple household. There are probably 6 of them in our home. From a truely ancient laptop called a "clam" to the big HD widescreen with all the bells and whistles. Most of them are owned by my son. Me, I have the old iMac in the closet and the one I am using right now is an iMac too (color is blue). Mine is OS X so it's very good usage wise. The one in the closet is stuck at OS 9.2 as I dropped it. You can try and upgrade but it starts to have problems until it can't work right anymore. My own fault so....
