I don't know about anyone else, but paper seems to breed in my house. I put down one lonely piece. Then wake up the next day, and *poof* magically (or something...) it has turned into a room full. I'm pretty sure it was just one. And pretty sure it was overnight... Let's grab a rubbish bag (any size, shape, colour, it doesn't really matter) and step into the land of the paper fairies. Wow.. it's pretty in here. So many fairies, wow.. See, they're fluttering, must be about to make some more paper and... oh... I left a window open... silly me.... just the breeze. Pick up 8 pieces of paper that need to be set free, put them in the bin Bonus points for whoever picks up (and THROWS OUT) the most paper. Don't stop to read the papers, you haven't seen them, let alone read them in the time they've been sitting there, you dont need to start reading them now. I know some of you do this, because guess what? So do I...) Just a quick glance will be sufficient to tell ou whether it's important or not. Tax stuff? Important. That note that you wrote yourself to remind you to tell someone to remind you to pick up some milk.. Not so important. I am giving you permission to throw out those unread newspapers. Those 23 random drawings that your child drew of.. what is that? A bird? A car? Oh, right... it's a mess! Those photocopies of those recipes that you just had to have.. but haven't cooked in a year and a half.. out they go. It's all online anyway. Printouts of funny emails? Not so funny when there's 462 of them. You'll get more emails. There's also 80,200,000 results in google of them. (no, don't go looking at them now, there's 1435 more minutes of the day that you can do that. I just want 5 of yours.) So, get up, take a stretch, a deep breath (okay, not that deep, the curtains just moved, it's only 8 pieces of paper, not a marathon you know) and pick up some paper. 1...2....3....4....5....6...7...8. Done.

Well if it is still Tuesday and I did it this evening does it count? I picked up several bags that had newspapers with "something I wanted to save" in them. Tossed out in the outside trash bin. Another bag of just papers and old catalogs. OUT. Ahh I see carpet in here.

At home, I emptied the recycle bag into the recycle container.
At work, I reduced a stack of papers on my desk. Several (I did not count) ended up in the trash. Several were properly filed. About a dozen are back in the pile awaiting further follow-up.
