This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!

Hey I seem to be starting this thread on Wednesdays! Well I'm a little behind folks, for the first time in ages I left the house with some dishes in the sink from last night. The drainer was full. I did empty it but I've my work cut out for me today in general, although the dishes are not bad TaDa's: Went to my mandatory appointment at Unemployment Went grocery shopping right afterward Came home and unplugged the fridge. I needs defrosting and spilling soy sauce in it last night convinced me to clean it out. I've my work cut out for me. Called the animal hospital about getting copies of my bill from two years ago. There was a settlement in the poisoning case and I want to apply for reimbursement of my substantial vet bills related to it. No I can't prove I bought the food, but I'm pretty sure I did and my cat suffered the unexplained kidney failure at just the time this was all happening. ToDo's: Those dishes, hey they aren't bad incorporating suggestions given to me and condensing my resume clean out the fridge, finish defrosting too make lunch and eat it! There's a lot going on! I hope you guys join me today

Sapphire...Yeah, I understand about those should'ves from yesterday. I always have tons of those, but now I focus more on my tadas. For example, in Accountability Partner's thread...I only list tadas, usually. I'll bet you did lots of other stuff yesterday. Great job paying that past due bill. I'll start with todos, my tadas up to now are on Accountability Partner's thread... Todos: 1)eat healthy lunch 2)put load of laundry in washer 3)fold load of laundry CD

Thanks Cando!! I find listing TODOs helpful. I'm more likely to do stuff if I've actually written it down! But I do try not to beat myself up if i don't achieve it!!

Next set: 1)got DS's laptop ready to take to him after school 2)picked up DD, DS & his friend from school--Homecoming parade & Bonfire was cancelled due to rain, so DD came home early. 3)took DS & his friend to Engineering/Robotics Club meeting--they are entering a robot in a competition called "Game" this weekend.

Hey Cando, your to do lists makes me realize how much work it is to have kids! Messyshelby, Jury duty will be ok, glad you made it and stayed emotionally stable. Folks my fridge is cleeeeean!!! It's still defrosting, there is one area of ice that as it loosens falls partly into the tray below the freezer and I can't get it out yet. More melting before I can free it. And put all the things back and clear off the table and get the kitchen back. However the thing is totally clean. I've also fixed a door shelf which would not hold the bar across it because the plastic was cracked. I had fixed a previous shelf with the same problem years ago. I've had the epoxy and fiberglass tape for years. It's finally done now. ALSO, ALSO I bought oven cleaner and sprayed the inside of the oven to leave overnight. MORE IMPORTANTLY I sprayed the range top, which has had black areas since I moved in and has never been able to be gotten clean by even friends who've helped me with elbow grease. So far most of it up, and I will wipe off the rest soon. This is a big move for me guys, and I feel so happy. But the burner tops are blocking up the sink, as are the trays and cookie sheets I usually keep in the oven. It's important for me to not destroy the rest of the kitchen with this project, as is a usual process for me. So far, so good.

ok, it's better than that. 1. took care of a medical/personal thing -- necessary. 2. made it to wed night meeting 3. left phone message for possible early appt-- tomorrow am 4.vitamins 5.different outer shirt 6. fill and return 1x water bottle 7. meditate 8. lesson 9. many attempts to ascertain number of and call headquarters of drugstore chain I have issue with. Got correct number. wrote it down. too late today. in purse. 10. walk -- not all at once, just from here -- then later to there. by the time I am home I will have gone over five miles. 11. spoke on chat a little. 12. wrote various supportive interjections on site. 13. drafted pm -- more dire -- kept a draft but didnt send. 14. dragged gym bag around with me all day and never went there. 15. OH! Made condolence call that was postponed to today even though I thought -- and said -- I couldnt make it. made her feel better. 16. put more candied ginger in little bag in purse for elderly friend with challenge. the ziplock bag turns out to have a nasty yuggy edge on one corner. they are not the kind of people you can give that too. will need to find a scissor and cut that off. 17. got pretty bag to put it in, and some bigger ones to take home, for me. 18. encountered the taping/filming of a celebrity tv show -- said I copletely don't care -- and wasted none of my day on it. don't even know who or what don't care. managed to ingest -- something fruit something vegetable (not enough) a few swallows of red wine (heart) -- other stuff. not particularly satisfying, but it'll cover the bases for the day. I think I forgot to throw out the bag with the old salads containing tuna -- do when get home.

hopehope, good day for you. lots done, glad you got to a meeting and took care of yourself.
Just following up to say to everyone that the defrosting is finally over, food back in fridge and the kitchen only marginally more disorganized for the moment. I did the dishes, those are in the drainer. I now have new ones, and the trays from inside the stove around and some sponges and such on top of fridge. It's 1:30 am here and I'm done for the day.
Tomorrow I will wipe out the oven and put the rest back together. I'm seeing that the leaking toilet tank in the bathroom is now really causing a problem I need to deal with that soon.
