I began reading here before the new version of ProBoards, and I remember being a bit irritated with the new version because the line-height had been decreased. But maybe, I thought, I would get used to it. I didn't. I've used Firefox to find out that the line-height here is 1.2, whereas I'd need a 1.4 to be able to read without effort. Is there an easy way to increase it? I'm using Firefox, and I know I can set a minimum font-size, but I didn't find a minimum line-height. Increasing all with Ctrl+ doesn't help

Okay, I found a solution. If anybody is interested, I'll try to get together all my English skills and explain it, but be warned: it requires some computer skills (not too much, though).

If it's not too much trouble, I'm sure many people with compromized vision would find it helpful! I didn't notice the line size got smaller with upgrade but now that you mention it, they are a bit crowded! At university we have to type everything with 1,5 line size and 12 font size and I've grown very accustomed and fond of that! Very easy to read!

Most browsers have a zoom feature to increase/decrease the font size. Look for that and adjust it until you are comfortable. Try CTRL+ to zoom in and CTRL- to zoom out. I know it works in Firefox. I'm not sure about the other Browsers.

Celeste -- I don't think the request was for increased font size while reading. Flotsam had already figured out how to do that. The request was for more space between lines, I think? Do I understand correctly, flotsam? --------- Edit to clarify ... The request was for making the line taller without making the letters taller. So I am assuming that the GOAL is to have more space between the rows of letters. -------------------- Adding on to my edit with another edit ... 1.0 in Microsoft Word .... is "single-spaced" with a typewriter. 2.0 in Microsoft Word .... is "double-spaced" with a typewriter. and 1.5 in Microsoft Word .... is whatever they call that. I'm not sure what measurement that flotsam is referring to with 1.4 and 1.2 but perhaps it's something like that. ------------------

ETA: I was just typing while you posted, CourageouslyLion SeeksSerenity. Yes, you are right.
Thanks for the reply, Celeste, but I've alredy tried that, and this doesn't change the line-height. So here's the solution for the brave: I have Windows 7 and Firefox. Firefox is definitely needed, but it should work on another OS too. 1. Find profile folderOpen Firefox, choose the menu path "Help -> Troubleshooting information". On the following page click on "Show Folder". Windows will open the folder. 2. Change into the folder named "chrome"3. Create fileIn my case there was a file named "userContent-example.css". We need a file named "userContent.css". Two possibilities: a) Copy the existing file and rename it. b) Create one by right-click in thís window -> New -> text file (not sure about the English name here) ETA: Windows wants to use ".txt" as ending; you have to change that. I wouldn't recommend just to rename the existing file -- I'm cautious. I didn't try if the capital C in the middle is essential. I just did what I was told Be careful! If there already is a file with the name, please ask someone what to do!4. Open "userContent.css" file with a simple editor (not Word or something like that!) Windows will usually open the file with the simple editor which is just named "editor" if you hit "enter". If you copied the file, there will be text in it. You can delete it completely. If you are unsure, just keep the text and copy one of the following lines right in the beginning or in the end, but nowhere in between. If you created the file from start, then it is empty. 5. Copy one of the following lines into the file:If you want to change the line-height for the whole site: @-moz-document domain(proboards.com) {body {line-height: 1.4em !important;}} If you want to change only the line-height in the posts: @-moz-document domain(proboards.com) {.posts .post .message {line-height: 1.4em !important;}} You can change the number (1.3em, 1.4em, whatever). Just take care that you don't put a space between the number and the unit (em) 6. (Close and) restart Firefox. Now you should see the increased line-height.
