OMG, I actually did an hour of paperwork yesterday and forgot to post here! I reconciled and filed bank statements, tossed unneeded receipts, shredded stuff, filled a full bag with recyclable paper (5 pounds), sealed it, and lobbed it down the recycle chute with a resounding *thunk* when it hit bottom... most gratifying!

lesaulerouge - Sounds like you have a good plan for the hot spot wicker basket papers. Yay!!! RoadRunner - Awesome work! papermoon - 5 pound bag down the chute !!! Woo Hoo! June 8th - Blech! Paperwork... Went thru yesterday's mail - 1 "to be shred", 3 into recycle bag, 1 catalog into trash Helped DD with Dr. forms Looked for 2014 Estimated Tax Pmt forms - don't have them, I guess. Found forms online. Printed out tax forms. Researched Dr. office address... evidently got it mixed up with a different Dr.'s address... so was confusing. Reviewed list I made yesterday with DD... she is knocking things off the list. Whew! CD

Reviewed my boring mail and tossed it all in the lobby recycling bin... didn't need to bring anything into my home!
Finished reading a May magazine and donated it to the lobby community table. Ditto with all the Sunday newspaper style sections. Somebody always snaps these things up quickly. I'm so glad it's so easy to declutter them... merely a quick elevator ride down and back.
I'm still behind with my magazine reading... 3 more May mags to go. I've been wanting to resubscribe to the New Yorker, but I'm afraid I'll slip even further behind with a weekly magazine coming in on top of the monthlies. But I really miss the New Yorker, boo-hoo! They do offer a half-year option... I could try that.

All, Good work this past week. I go sidetracked with the end of year stuff at school so handling paper clutter did not make the cut this week. But I will be making up for it on Monday as I close my classroom out for the summer and of course I will have more time on the home front now that summer is here. Good Luck this week.

I've managed to deal with junk mail every day this week!
Admittedly, on some of those days, it was only one piece, but on some of the days, it was as many as 15. (My goal is to do 5 pieces daily, on average.)

Last night I dismantled my hoard of Sunday newspapers piled high on my bedside table, which I had been intending to read. Yeah, right. I got rid of them all, along with a couple dozen other random papers mixed in the pile. It was soooo nice NOT to wake up to that towering pile this morning, but instead to see my beautiful little table. It's tiger maple, and I had forgotten how pretty it was, under all that dusty clutter. Arid ~ It took determination and vigilance, but I finally got my junk mail whipped into submission. You can do it!

papermoon you are really on a roll! Congrats to everyone keeping up with their daily mail. Today i dealt with a months worth of mail (i only pick it up once a month from po box). It wasnt alot, 2 pieces of junk mail straight to recycle bin, opened bills, clipped the actual bills together and put envelopes and inserts in recycling. Balanced checkbook against statement. Will pay bills tomorrow.

When I think about it, paper, including books, and clothes are my biggest issues. I revived my clothes hoarding thread. I haven't gotten rid of a huge amount of items as yet, but I am working on it. Most importantly, I am working hard on changing my thinking. Really, my thinking is what got me into this mess. I think I need to change it to permanently alter my behavior.

I'm still battling the junk mail--EVERY SINGLE DAY!!
I must say, that when it came time to "attack" the kitchen table before company was expected, I had much less of a "build up" than I used to have. Getting rid of even one piece of "junk mail" a day is making a real difference! I highly recommend it!!

well it's been a while since I was here, not long after my last post I got a call that mum was deteriorating, I got to spend a few days with her before she passed away peacefully.
I've only been back for a week and I'm very tired. I have a lot to catch up on at home and at work but I'm starting by dealing with the mail backlog which I've done this afternoon.
