Papers showed up today in mail I need to respond to for Monday. I am not looking forward to it. Tomorrow I hope I don't forget to make front back copies of my credit cards and then put copies away in case of emergency like wallet being stolen.
I was told its a good way because if your cards were stolen could you remember all the numbers plus the three digit code on back of cards. Also good to put in safety deposit box in case of fire.

I handled one piece of paper today. It was a piece of recent mail that contained what I knew was both good and bad news. It took almost 30 minutes to get courage to open it. It took 2 minutes to read it and would cry but if I did I wouldn't stop. So that was one piece of paper...now I can handle the rest easier.

A mark of progress for me... I got a big present in the mail today. After I opened it and put the goodies away, I immediately broke down the box and recycled it along with all the packing materials, down the Recycle chute. I didn't save anything "just in case", and I didn't leave the box lying around for days in the entry hall.

I now have 1 hour under my belt doing paperwork. Stack reduced by 4 inches and the light in the tunnel is oh so faint but it's there. My goal is to finish by Thursday... Hopefully.

Final total hours on paperwork... 5 hours and basket still full but area around floor surprisingly clear and almost all papers found needed to fill for health insurance application and list of bills I need.
I find it hard to believe this is paperwork. Its more archeology dig.
I also found in the paperwork corner over 15 hair bands for ponytails,8 notebooks with each 2 to 4 pages used, cat toy, nail scissors, tweezers, pencils, pens, coins, books, old papers from second grade...my daughter's in fourth, more weird stuff,a clay piece my daughter made, mineral oil bottle, handheld tape recorder,a wallet,a purse, socks, my alarm clock, instruction manuals to games,a headband and scarily the basket is still full!!!

Archeology dig! So true, lostchild!
I went through a paper pile left on my living room floor from the last time I did a paper purge. Recycled most of it. Small pile left which I put in the study. Also did a mail run through to get rid of the obvious junk.

I had to dig up a prescription number last night. (Threw away the bottle, and forgot to reorder.) It took me nearly half an hour, with anxiety rising rapidly, and made me realize how badly I've let my papers slide back into disorderliness.
I want to re-institute my serious paperwork time and make it a daily habit. I'll need to work it into my list of daily habit challenges, starting the new week on the 22nd.
Meanwhile, at least I did finally locate the original prescription order from my doctor, and I got it refilled. Whew!

papermoon. How much time are you going to spend per day? Or are you setting a different kind of goal? Do you count e-mail as paper clutter? I think I'm ready to set a daily time goal, but I think I'll start very small, like 10 min.

I just filled out a piece of paper that I've been putting off for a month. It took 5 min. It may have serious consequences if not rec'd in time. . This disorder is baffling. Sent work e-mail due yesterday.

Darn Autofill! This isn't the first time I've gotten tagged in a post meant for papermoon! PaperGrace. How much time are you going to spend per day? I really should join this thread. There's a reason there's 'paper' in my screen name.
