I just finished an hour and a half on my research papers. I told History Guy that I am not going to do research with him tomorrow, I am going to take a week and get caught up with this mess. It is driving me crazy. I will do another hour or two after supper tonight.

Down to 2 physical magazines that I haven't read, which will go in recycling as soon as I'm finished with them.
All of my mail (2.5 months worth) was opened, dealt with, and recycled on Sunday.
To do: 3 boxes of "mementos" that were things my grandmother saved over the years. I want to have these sorted by Christmas so that I can give anything worth saving to my aunts and have it out of my house. I plan to keep my grandmother's childhood autograph books, and that's it.

perfectionist ~ Vent away! But then remember that you were able to get down to one small pile, and you'll be able to get there again. Papers are like autumn leaves... they keep falling and we have to keep raking. Only darn it... papers keep falling ALL year long.

Can I join back in? I lost the daily paperwork habit sometime in early summer and I need to get back to it.
Yesterday, opened all the mail and sorted it out. Pulled out the "important" stuff to the top of the pile.
Have an important phone call to make tomorrow morning early. I also need to get some things written on the calendar. I don't have much to remember these days so it makes it harder to remember the few things I actually have to do on a certain day.

Forgot to post this about a week ago, I did this on a morning before work: Went thru some papers from box in my bedroom that was moved there from the Office. These were papers from my kids Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Put 3 papers from 2004 into recycle bag.
That is a difficult box... didn't get rid of much nor did I put away... just those 3 papers. Granted, I was in a hurry to get to work.................

Wanted to get the mess off my desk. Didn't know where to start. Found a box full of unsorted old papers. Dumped all the desktop into the box, took it out of the office, and started.
I've been tossing and shredding and recycling and going "OMG! I forgot to pay that bill!", and "Why do I have the car's warranty book in here and not in the car?", and "2010 receipts? REALLY?" SMH.
Here's a good challenge: Make all the Christmas mailings go out as fast as they come in! I've almost filled a grocery bag with all the holiday ads and catalogs, and it's in the recycling bin. I kept just a few for stores I actually might shop in before Christmas.

Papers. Papers, papers, papers ... and it gets worse during the holidays. All the ads, and cards, and Christmas wrap. So in the middle of all this craziness, I decided I was sick and tired of one box of papers that's been sitting by my recliner for months. The one that I dumped the contents of my desk into (see above). I dove in. I was able to get rid of a lot, but ran out of time for all. So much Christmas still to accomplish!
So I pulled out the huge, I mean huge, wicker container with a lid that I have under my desk, stuffed with papers. I wanted to see if there was enough room to dump the rest of the box in there and at least stop looking at the box. My husband COULD NOT BELIEVE how much stuff I had in that wicker container. Oh well. I can't hide everything from him always. I pulled some more stuff out of there, and spent an half hour sorting out enough so that I could dump the rest of the box into it.
More recycling, shredding, and garbage processed, and one more box off of the floor. The wicker container still calls to me. I hope to accomplish that while I still have breath in my body!
