Hi Everyone, I have a few dishes to do that have been waiting for my attention that I am planning on getting done tonight. I have been keeping the kitchen fairly good since my last post but the last several days I just have not felt like doing the dishes. So this is my accountability to have them done (at least washed tonight). Be back later to report in. Next stop laundry thread (two more loads to do and also work on mt fold me tonight)

@ dayeanu and TML - How did you go? At each part of the process - be happy with yourself and endorse your progress. (((daye))) I'm sorry for your circumstance. I really suggest keeping a time log of what you are doing re meals / cleanup for up to 4 people.

Welcome, dayeanu and TML! This wonderful thread has magical powers, you'll see! Before I joined, I was only doing a few dishes a day, always leaving some in the sink and on the counter, and always dragged down by the sucky energy of those unwashed dishes. When I committed to this thread, I made myself do ALL the dishes plus shine the sink. Twice a day, even! And my energy lifted. Accountability on the thread has kept me going... plus chasing Arid's awesome record! Arid, can you see me in your rear view mirror?

dishes washed tonight. I'd need to read back to see how long this everyday washing up streak has been. At least thru July I'm claiming. Not twice a day like Papermoon, but a more consistent habit for me.

Hi I put up the dishes in the rack and did a couple of dishes. They are not done but they are less which is in the right direction. I just need to get in a habit of doing them.

WTG @transforming my life. From P1 - some methods others who eventually became successful used For many of us obtaining and maintaining a functional kitchen starts with getting debris from meals cleaned up, and a sink or dish washer readily used. If you are needing to play catch up: It can happen one dish at a time as per 60isolderthanithot's method (that action was repeated frequently every time she passed by the sink), or by washing today's + 1 item as per Arid's success. I washed one dish drainer full daily to play catch up - I am only washing up for one person so that was more than the dishes/debris created in a day. Some find they need make multiple actions through the day to get it all to flow smoothly without creating backlog. Amnesty - Really ugly/difficult/grotty stuff can be tossed before washing if that is what is possible. Some people use disposable plates and cutlery if that is what is needed - just remember to dispose of them if that's your choice. If it helps you to post your success, or your difficulties, then jump in. Please - post what works for you. We are our own cheer squad so please cheer on whoever posts before you. Wynken

I unloaded the dishwasher and loaded all the dirty dishes. Been gone two days and no one touched the dishes in my absence. I still have hand-washing to do.
We are having lots of family upheaval right now. (More than usual.) Someone, I think Angela, mentioned that I can do work and feel negative emotions at the same time. That's my plan for today.

[/img] dayeanuI tend to not know my own strength with angry doing things, Though I think more things have gotten broken while vacuuming then while washing dishes. Not that I vacuum that often. Take care. Hope things get sorted out to greater stability soon.

I haven't been around in a while, but I have managed to wash my dishes at least once a day. Still canning, which requires kitchen sink & counter clean up before canning prep and also after if I want to have room to cook a meal. The garden is still going strong but my strength is fading in the heat and humidity.

I have not washed dishes in two days, in part because of all the time taken up in family upheaval dealings, and in part because of driving DGS to his activities yesterday. I had partially loaded the DW yesterday, finished today, and am running it now. I washed a lot of the hand-wash stuff two days ago, will do some more today. I need to carry out the cup of coffee grounds and egg shells, and do something w the avocado seeds I've been soaking - either plant or toss. I'm leaning toward toss.

Toss them this time. There will always be more avocado seeds. Direct your energy to the dishes.
