Okay - I got impatient and searched.
GRyPIT = garbage, recyclables, plastics, and trash.
That's a good one.

Once again, kitchen totally clean in the morning, and totally clean after dinner. WHY was this always so hard? Oh yeah - no dishwasher, and complicated cooking, using too many pots and pans. Today I strained the chicken stock and put it in the fridge … tomorrow I'll get the fat off. I used to make chicken stock constantly. I was *so* thrifty, I always bought chicken legs or whole chickens, and never wasted a bone. But then I'd use a couple of strainers and a couple of stock pots to strain it, and just leave them to sit. Today I cleaned up the big pots and strainers as I went along, and now I just have a container in the fridge.

That's AWESOME! WTG!!!!! I know what you mean about leaving the pots. I like to make chicken vegetable soup. Typically, after I would put the soup in the fridge, the pot would sit on the counter for days. (Too big to go in the dishwasher.) Yesterday, I made the soup, strained some broth for Mother, and washed the pot and strainer as soon as I had refrigerated the soup. I, too, am a bit amazed that it used to seem like such a big deal. It is so SO nice to have open counter space when I cook, instead of trying to balance everything on that little ridge between the sinks. My DD felt particularly domestic today, and came over to Mother's to cook big involved stuff. Twice. Breakfast and supper. I promise it *looked like* every dish in the kitchen was dirty. And she left it all. The look of it reminded me of when there were days and days worth of dirty dishes to wash. Except that this time, I KNEW all the dishes were clean this morning. So I put away the clean dishes, loaded all the dirty dishes, threw out the scraps, hauled off the trash, (bindependence day tomorrow), and the dishes are washing as I write. I was tired and didn't want to do it, but I knew I'd be glad in the morning. TBH, I'm a little bit afraid to fall off the wagon and skip a day. I'm becoming a little OCD about it.

dayeanu - Me, too. I can barely leave a dish on the counter now. For me, it's easier to clean up a brand-new, big mess after a dinner party than a mess that's been accumulating over many days, even if it's smaller.

Today's dishes - DONE
GRyPiT - DONE (except for dumping garbage - I was heading down the steps to compost pile when I caught a whiff of skunk - I don't like surprises in the dark so it will be dumped in the morning)
Maintaining cleared counters - holding @ 93%
Reclaimed another very small section of countertop. It's still a little rough around the edges but I see more clear counter than crap so I'm celebrating!
GREAT JOB ALL YOU DISH WASHER-UPPERS! Keep on keepin' on.

Congratulations to everyone for good jobs done!!!!!!! gracious I'm with you on the skunk issue! I am quite cautious about venturing out in the dark. lostchild excellent for seeing improvemwnt! I loaded the dishwasher with all the dirty dishes, but it really just was not enough to run - there were hardly any - we had leftovers, DD did not come over, so not many dishes. I'll make up for it today.
