This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da!
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!

Marie, do you ever sleep? Whoa -- I would be dead on my feet in the wee hours of the morning, and I know for certain I wouldn't be doing any cleaning! Good for you getting all of that work done! Cando, that's really good to plan the night before, so you have your goals set for the next day. You'll have to let us know how your plan for today goes. Today is a homeschool day, so everything revolves around school. My first order of business, after I'm finished checking my mail and logging on to WITs is to turn off the modem (this is mostly so I'm not tempted!), and turn off the electricity to my bedroom and the guest bedroom (so my younger daughter can't sneak away to watch TV). Ta-Da's: 1. Cleaned another kitchen area 2. Put five more things away from my kitchen table 3. Got the recycling out -- early! To Do's: 1. Turn off modem and breakers 2. Exercise with the Wii Fit 3. Make breakfast 4. Go over today's schooling plan with the girls 5. Stay on-task while homeschooling -- all of us! "See" you way later, mle

Good morning everyone. Thanks for starting WITS Marie. I used to do night shifts, and totally understand doing laundry at night. Cando, you're off to a great start too! It's good to plan ahead. Mlecampbel, kudos on homeschooling. My 2 grand daughters are homeschooled also. (My grandson prefers to attend school as he's learning a trade.) In Massachusetts, you don't have a high school diploma unless you attend school, which is unfair. I'm up fairly early, as I have a few things to do before I go to work this aft. TODOS: 1. Breakfast. 2. Banking. 3. Laundry. This is all after I get washed, dressed, and take all my meds/vites/supplements. See you all later with updates. 3g

mle, I do sleep, about 9a to 3 or 4p and sometimes an hour nap before work or 2 hours nap on my nights off. There is the illusion that I go to bed with the family, then I am up and wide awake in a little while and alone with the house my 3 nights off or working the other 4. I feel like I got something done last night which is good. I posted pics in the photos section of what I did in my kitchen during the night and it is quite a difference, even if not finished.
Good morning, good afternoon and good night! I may not get back on for a couple days as I am leaving after work in the morning for my brother's wedding and won't be back until Monday night.

Hi Syzergy. I know what you mean about making the list & then looking at it and shaking your head. That's what I've been doing today, although I've done a few things... not nearly enough.
Yay, Marie, 3G, Mlecampbel!!!
Tadas: 1)took DD to school 2)came home & then took DS to school 3)Walked 15 minute with DAngelDog. We went to the lake again. It was pretty chilly outside...went in the 40s last night & don't know what the temp was while walking. DAngelDog & I absolutely love walkiing around that little lake which I found out today is .72 miles - one time around. I am increasing my speed now and I felt so good after the walk. DAngelDog was actually prancing the last few minutes. There were lots of pigeons, ducks, other birds, turtles sticking their heads out of the lake, and squirrels. DAngelDog wants to chase those squirrels so bad but I won't let her. Last time she caught one -- ended up with a trip to the vet as it got her some...and the squirrel died. I don't want her killing squirrels. So don't intend to let her go after them. One was so close & wasn't even afraid of us...if only that squirrel knew what trouble he could've been in if DAngelDog got away from me........
Todos: 1)eat healthy breakfast 2)cook supper 3)call re: driver's license 4)Go to website that I was referred to & see if advice on Identity Theft...

I started that a few weeks ago too! I'm doing mine on the treadmill while listening to the podcasts since getting all the kids out for me to run isn't realistic right now. I made it partway through week two, then started having some knee issues (I'm quite a bit overweight and working on losing it). So now I'm taking a break from the running and just doing some walking to get my body used to the exercise, then I'll start the C25K again.

Hypatia..Sorry your knees are giving you issues. There are a couple couch to 5K programs out there. This one you don't actually start running until the 2nd Phase of it... Week 5(?). Check this out: www.beginnertriathlete.com/Programs/conservative_program.htmI just want to be a runner, not a triathlete, though, cause I don't like swimming as much...I like it, but not enough to do that. I understand about using the treadmill especially with your young'uns! . I would like to lose about 50 pounds, if possible to even do that. May not realistic to get down quite that small, again. Tadas: 1)ate healthy breakfast (cherub tomatoes and 1 egg + 1 egg white scrambled with sauteed onion & fresh bell pepper from neighbor's garden. 2)put hand-washed stuff from drainboard, away. hmmm...going to do 3rd one now... so only did two! Todos: 1)cook supper 2)call DMV 3)call school re: sweatpants CD
