Hello everyone It's bed time here but I had to tell you what I have done I DUSTED I have started getting my bedroom back in order, I have hung up clothes and dusted the bookcase, dresser, TV ,edge of the wardrobe and cleaned and tidied by bedside table. And I took the cloth I cleaned with and wiped down the bathroom vanity and rinsed out the cloth and hung it up - I was jus going to fling it in the sink and deal with it later. It is miracle!! I hope everyone else has such a productive day!!

Well done razy! I might dust tomorrow. Good idea. I'm not doing anything more today except for cooking dinner. I can't believe I could even move enough to do this stuff, but hey, bonus. Unload dishwasher Vacuum lounge Vacuum bedroom Empty ashtray <-- This was rank, but easy. I just threw the whole ashtray in the bin. Yuck. It was an ugly ashtray, so I bought a plain glass one the other day for only $1.80! Have a hangover <-- This one was easy. I just had to wake up, and ta-da. Load dishwasher after dinner. I'll do this. It'll be easy. I'm not eating... blehhh. And TV dinner for hubby. Vegies and nuggets for small child. There'll only be like 5 things to put in the dshwasher *whispered woohoo*

Survived Hallowe'en. Also survived too much vitamin C - need to remember not to take more than 2 tablets at a time. My system responds poorly to 3 tablets. Anyway, no sneezing or coughing yesterday, so perhaps the vC did the trick. Today I'll keep it at 2 tabs, though. I don't quite recall the dosage of the tablets, but I guess it's high. I'll look later. Razy, your bedroom is sounding quite cozy. Hooray for dealing with the cleaning cloth promptly. Udder, I see the hangover did not debilitate you, as you got lots of vacuuming done, as well as emptying the ash trays. eagle's Saturday morning wake-up routine (face, eyes, teeth, hair) mopped porcelain tile floors: kitchen, hallway, small bathroom, back entry, steps & landing to garage put the coffee on removed dry clothes from dryer; folded them started whites in dryer make-up 30 mintues in home office pay some bills vitamins & apple paint fingernails shower, etc. FAX paperwork to tax accountant (there was no time for this - I'll have to do this on a day when Hubby is at the restaurant, too) banking dust something: tv, DVR, XBox & adjacent areas throw something away: full brown bag for recycle clean something enjoy something: two things- spent time outdoors on deck & filled two bird feeders
- spent time getting to know someone better - as it turns out, we have a lot more in common than we previously knew

Razy--Great job on dusting & cleaning!!! Woot! Woot!
Today's tadas: 1)played with puppy 2)put load #1 in washer 3)fixed some breakfast for DH (1/2 blueberry bagel, sliced an apple, 1 egg +1 egg white scrambled with sauteed onions & bell peppers) DD(scrambled egg sandwich & choc. milk) & DS & self (1 scrambled egg with sauteed bell pepper & onions & 1 slice toast, choc. milk). 4)put 5 bottles/cans into recycle bag 5)dressed2 shoes, brushed hair & teeth 6)couple swipes sink & sink counter 7)couple swipes back bathroom toilet 8)moved Load #1 into dryer & hang the hang-dry things 9)put Load #2 into washer 10)put away hand-washed stuff from drainboard
11)emptied kitchen trash, sprayed can & replaced bag 12)took 3 bags of trash to outside can 13)took 1 bag of recyclables to outside can & put 2 empty boxes in garage 14)A todo that I did: found place for the 4 blankets that were removed from my bed & replaced by the comforter about a week and a half ago...they are not really dirty...maybe shades of gray. They have been folded neatly and sitting on top of the clothes hamper in my back bathroom. Well, to start with there were 5!!! Decided to wash 2 of them so put in bag with some sheets that need washing. Also, Decided to see if there is room at the top of the Hall Closet... couldn't tell cause things are all messed up there... have been letting Ds & DH put stuff up there for me since they are tall & don't have to get out a chair to put stuff away. Hmmm. From now on, I'll probably just get out the chair. So, cleaned out top of the Hall Closet!!! I've never done this before since I've lived in this house about 14 years!
*1 empty bag -- put in bag of bags to be recycled at grocery store *2 empty big plastic zipper bags --into trash. (all crumpled & stuck together) *4 pillow cases into giveaway bag *3 pillow cases moved into chest of drawers in Office of Doom (one of these has been missing for a couple years) *removed the blankets & mattress pad that were up there & set aside *used 2 Chlorox bleach wipes to swipe the shelf, then a paper towel *Lined shelf with contact paper (but didnot stick it on)
Now, on shelf at top of Hall Closet: * 6 blankets, afgans, throws *1 mattress pad *2 travel/camping pillows
15)did maintenance on Eating Area table *put windex & chlorox bleach wipes away *tossed candy that DD had given to DS. He said he didn't want it -- except that I had the 1 piece of watermelon gum. (In the past, that candy would have sat there for months & finally moved to another place to sit forever...that has been standard operating procedure in the past..NO MORE!) *2 papers filed *4 papers put in recycle bag
16)swiped white part of extendable gate that we extend out when we want to keep dogs out of the kitchen. This area was filthy looking.
Now, you know why those blankets were sitting on top of the clothes hamper in my back bathroom. That was a lot of work to put those away!
17)tried to play with puppy but she didn't want to "give" to me & I am not playing her game right now... 18)found out when finals start for DD's Marching Band competition...I'm assuming they will be in it. They are the defending champions. 19) folded/hung load #1 20)put Load #1 away
21)moved Load #2 into dryer & hung the hang-dry things 22put Load #3 into washer CD

Thank Cindy Updated PayPal info with MY bookmark Sort/open mail that came Set aside bills due Give bills to Dad to pay Verify that Dad paid bills Send thanks to Gordina/Haze Send Cousin John old family photos via email (Testing new email address) Send USB pics to Cousin Donna Visit Mother Wash Mom's clothes Take clean clothes to Mom Home clean-up Create heart-shaped checkboxes for tiredofthis _________________________________________ We're back from our quick 1200 mile car trip for my aunt's funeral. Mom had more problems earlier in the week, but she settled once she got to the familiar surroundings of her sister's home. I think Mother was glad her sister was out of her misery. Mom didn't recognize where she was most of the time she was traveling and that was upsetting. There was NO excitement or interest in returning to her home state. It was weird in someone who was once so interested in the local history, etc. Odd also to be reliving family trips with parental roles reversed. (My brother dealt with everything magnificently, by the way, and did his best to ease the strain on others.) Saw friends of my aunt's I'd heard about but never met. Spent time with relatives I hadn't seen in ages. Ironed out a few misconceptions with my curmudgeonly uncle which eased our relationship somewhat. Exchanged old photos by bringing my scanner and a USB drive. Once my cousins saw old family photographs they'd never seen before in my collection, they were excited to get them and share their own. It was a good trip, but I suspect that is the last one my mother will make to her home state. It is hard on her and she doesn't get anything out of it anymore. Once back home, we stopped in at the house where a lonely Minx made a big deal over Mom and sat with her a long time. Mom was thrilled with the cat's attentions, but ready to go back to the home and rest after a short while. Cindy took great care of the cats, bless her, and our neighbor collected our mail, which we forgot to stop. It's good to be home, despite the work awaiting us. _________________________________________ Razy - Your bedroom sounds blissfully restful. Good for you for dusting, too. It is my chief bugbear. The way you treated your bathroom rag is a key part of maintenance: Do it immediately and get it out of the way.UdderChaos - I loved your hangover ta-da! Kudos to you for cleaning when you weren't feeling 100%. Eagle - Another duster! You'd better watch it. You two ladies may inspire me! Metamorpha - Lots of maintenance going on in your house! Now you'll have pleasant surroundings when you get ready to enjoy your music room. Chris - You are well on your way to completing an impressive list. Go for it! Cando - Love that ta-da. Play with the puppy some more. They're only small for a short time.

Celeste-- I just have one thing to do for you... I'll bet that role reversal was odd... As far as puppy, she is really a year and a half now and 46 pounds. But, she is still sooo puppy! Cd

Thanks for the hugs, Cando. Yes, the role reversal was very odd. My brother did most of the driving, rather than my Dad. I did a little, like my Mother used to spell my father in the old days. I found myself playing moderator between Mom and Dad, mirroring the refereeing my folks did when my brother and I used to bicker. Since Mom couldn't remember where we were or how far we had to go, I had to answer the inevitable "Are we there yet?" questions. We decided where we'd spend the night and when to get up. My brother and I did the checking to make sure all personal items were repacked in the car rather than my folks. Had to make a few emergency bathroom stops for Mother, so I was glad I was prepared for them. I dimly remember my parents doing that for me when I was four. Very backwards! Wow! 46 pounds is a lot of puppy! Hopefully, she remembers to bring you back home after playing with you!

- Message for Chris -- Several days ago, I read your post about how your local D.A. group has few members showing up. The same thing happens where I live. I know that can be frustrating. You'd think MORE people would be coming to the meetings, with the economy the way it is. I don't know. Maybe everyone is just too overwhelmed? Or maybe we're just all disorganized people who can't seem to fit a meeting into our crazy schedules? What I've started doing is driving to the big city every couple of months to go to a meeting there. The rooms are full of people in years of recovery. It's very inspiring. I don't go often, due to the price of gasoline, the time involved, and my fear of driving long distances. Sometimes I carpool with someone. But just going a few times per year -- that seems to give me a boost. I also go to D.A. chat meetings in room 5 at stepchat.comWhen I go to a local meeting and nobody else shows up, I sit and read 12-step literature. I work on my spending plan. I meditate. Whatever. I "give myself a meeting". Sometimes I even phone other members from the meeting hall. I do whatever I have to. The main thing is that I remember that the meetings aren't the program. The meetings are a TOOL. The steps are the program, and that helps me. Hugs, Lioness -

I still actually have to CLEAN my house? Oooohhhhhhh. Apparently just reading and posting alone won't magically get my home vacuumed. Hmmmmm. Very well... grumble grumble grumble ......
