This is the Working in Threes Thread (W.I.T.)
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, especially if you've never posted before!
The guidelines are simple:
- Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing.
Once you have 3 things done, post them here.
- Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again.
Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, you are in the right place!
If the next 15 minutes consists of:
- Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash
. . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE - DOM !!!
You could post:
Ta - Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers
Then your To - Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away.
Whether you do those three to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post.
Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da![/size][/b]
If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you.[/size][/b]
Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM!

I'm glad to meet the people who joined in October - judejude, messyshelby, Marie - did I forget someone, sorry.
Saturday is go to Mom's day. She is 91 and we are seeing her deteriorate both physically and mentally.
First todo: Finish the dishes shower and dress reboot the laundry and TAKE MY VITAMINS

Hi Madtiger. Give your DMom an extra hug & kiss and tell her it's "from a friend". We never get & give enough hugs! Just starting out, so only two tadas: 1)woke up & pulled some jeans on. 2)played with puppy Todos: 1)put load #1 in washer 2)fix some breakfast for DH & anyone else who's up or ready to wake up 3)wash some dishes CD

Cando,
"Played with puppy" is such a wonderful Tada! So often, we only make room for the yucky stuff in our lists. (Assuming that you played with the puppy for enjoyment, and not out of a sense of duty!)

Found my contact lenses. (I accidently flung the open case behind my bathroom sink yesterday. Made coffee. Logged on to post here.
Todos: Run around like a banshee, to be able to catch my bus in 30 minutes: Shower Dress Copy down my plans for the day, and pack my gear. (I have three different activities I want to do, and cannot return home between times.)

Good Morning MadTiger, CanDo, and SimpleGifts I'm off to a slow start this morning, but have big plans. First I need to need to get the main living areas tidy, then alternate between the spare room and the laundry room. Somewhere in there I need to work on the mudroom, too! Tadas: 1. Got up. 2. Made coffee.... 3 cups! Drank too much last night and my head hasn't recovered. Wonder why I get hungover now, and didn't when I was younger?? 3.Thought about what I'm doing today! !! that does count, doesn't it?? Todos: 1. Get dressed. 2. Make bed. 3. Recycle laundry. That's start.

Hi Madtiger. I joined in October too! But I'll forgive you for missing me! Hi Merrymaid, hope your hangover disappears quickly!!! And thinking about what to do today DEFINITELY counts as a TADA!!! Hi Simplegifts, I hope you made the bus in time!! Hi Cando, I think playing with the puppy is a great TADA! Good luck with your washing, etc! TADAs: Got out of bed eventually, and showered. Made breakfast. (copying Merrymaid) Thought about what I need to get done today! TODOs: A pile of hand washing. De-clutter under and around easel! (Nope, still haven't done it!! That's 3 WITs it's appeared in! ) Continue looking for and find lost dvd overdue at library!

Hello to Madtiger, Cando, Simplegifts, Merrymaid, & Sapphire. I got up early today, so I have a few TADAS already. 1. Washed, dressed, took all meds/vites/supplements. 2. Went to the store for a few groceries. (Forgot the most important thing! I'll get it tomorrow.) 3. Got bagels and coffee to have at home. 4. Ate breakfast. The onion bagels were delicious! We often eat breakfast at lunchtime..we're strange that way. 5. Started a load of laundry washing. TODOS, 1. Put laundry in dryer. 2. Go to Cape Cod with my sister today! Have a great day! Sapphire--Thank goodness no one keeps track of how many times something has been on a todo list! So, don't even think about that. I don't even like to think about my todo lists cause I get too upset... too much to do, too little time, distractions, stress, anxiety, and not nearly enuf gets done on mine---that is why I just don't think about the todo lists these days & just focus on tadas. In fact, if you've ever noticed my posts in the Accountability thread...I usually only post tadas. I like to see what I've gotten done... and because I've been working on this for a long time...I try to get 25 things at least done...and they include baby steps, etc..... such as drinking a glass of water & playing with puppy, etc..... Sapphire & Simple Gifts--about playing with puppy. I love to play with her, but not always when she wants too, but realize that she needs it, so sometimes like the one above, i make myself (cold out this morning in my backyard)... and always end up enjoying it anyway. She loves to catch this unofficial type (more like a ball for kids that bounces more & is lighter than an official one) basketball that is mostly deflated... it is filthy so we just keep that one outside... Tadas: 1)put load #1 in washer 2)fixed some breakfast for DH (1/2 blueberry bagel, sliced an apple, 1 egg +1 egg white scrambled with sauteed onions & bell peppers) DD(scrambled egg sandwich & choc. milk) & DS & self (1 scrambled egg with sauteed bell pepper & onions & 1 slice toast, choc. milk). 3)put 5 bottles/cans into recycle bag Todos: 1)dress2 shoes, brush hair & teeth 2)couple swipes sink & sink counter 3)couple swipes back bathroom toilet CD

Hi Everyone... long time no see! I've been busy and a little complacent. So far today ~ Ta Das! Fed cat Had breakfast with friends Walked dog To Dos: Breakfast with kids Clean my room Buy a winter coat Go to Wally-World for paper towels, dog food, toothpaste, etc That's actually 4, but the room cleaning is going to be an on going process!

Glad you've joined me in the thinking, Sapphire If more than one of us do it, it must count! . Tadas: 1.Got dressed. 2.Recycled laundry. 3.Made bed. And a few extra tadas: 1.Picked all dd's halloween candy and put it back in her cauldron, (she was a witch.) 2. Opened the window in my bedroom to let it air out some. 3. Put away two bags of clothes. Todos: 1. Recycle laundry. 2. Put clean dishes away / load dirty dishes. 3. Eat something.

2pm and just getting up Dd was up until 4:30 am. I slept, but was up all the time getting her stuff, etc. TaDa: - got up before I wanted to (just now) - texted a friend about taking our kids to HSM 3 - plugged in my phone before it died ToDo: - wake up dd - get dd up and dressed - eat something

Hi Jude Well done getting your phone plugged in! I struggle with that... well, actually, my phone is missing... I'm sure it's dead somewhere! Tadas: 1.had one bite of protein bar.... it was yucky, so I'm going to wait a bit and try to think of something else to eat (I'm doing no sugar, flour, white stuff diet.) 2. Recycled laundry. 3. Took everything off rack in the laundry room, sorted it into what needs to go to charity shop,and put the rest in our bedroom closets. Todos: 1. Spend 15 minutes working in the spare room. 2. Carry out all the bags in the hall way to the van. 3. Unload dishwasher and reload. 4. Recycle laundry (I have to do this each time!
