Just food for thought. I may be completely off the wall wrong.

Blackswan I have read here in previous posts about cleanies having a sort of constant underlying focus on picking up and cleaning as they move through their environment. I know my Mom does this. I used to have that sort of radar but something went wrong years ago now when I learned that my focus on a nice environment didn't keep me safe or happy. Then when I moved to this property and the maintenance responsibilities quadrupled and I didn't have the energy to keep up, well I sort of learned to NOT see things in order to not be upset all the time about it all the time. Though I am sort of upset about it all the time. :/

We learned to Not see things so it wouldn't bother us, yet we do see those things all the time, anyway, and it bothers us.

def6 thank you for starting thus thread. It has reminded me of things that worked for me in the past - cleaning a minute here and there. I'm going to go clean something while I'm waiting for DGS to come help me with an outside project.

Hello Daye, I love working along happily on these small, quick jobs. I think now, I will purposely break down larger jobs this way. It is the only way I really want to clean right now. I'm pleased to have inspired you, as you have inspired me so many times through the years.

You've all inspired me, too. In honour of this thread, today I flexed my cleaning muscle a bit more than usual. Instead of simply rinsing out the coffee pot, I scrubbed it. I scrubbed the filter first, but then I decided to clean the pot. Now it looks almost brand new - I just need to get at cleaning the machine itself. Wow, clear gleaming glass, just like in a "normal" home, lmao. Now that it's sparkling, I'm wondering how I was able to drink out of it, with all those deep stains - or the icky blob of dust that'd collected in the base of the handle? Yuck!
