I picked up empty cat food bags the kids have just been leaving outside and threw them in the big garbage bin. When I went past later to check sometting else, I smiled. One less thing to do when I finally get around to a focus clean!

The very last spot in the house where vermin have nested: behind my dresser. Ewww, I'm so terrified of what's back there! AHHHHH! The dresser is sitting behind my bed, against a window, where I keep a bunch of plants. So there's webs galore, and all kinds of dead leaves stuck in that mess too. Yikes, am I sure I want to do this? I have to move my bed as well, another horror story right there. Good thing I have a new package of vacuum bags, because this challenge'll fill a whole one just by itself. Wish me luck!

Good luck with your ick today cyn. As much as you don't want to do it - do you really want it left near where you sleep? Instead of viewing the mess, view the end result. Picture yourself as Warrior Kimmy's avatar - going in with a sword in hand to conquer! Re the vac bag - if its really bad - vac it up - and toss the bag! Just get all of that ick right out of your house!

Thanks for all the encouragement! Yay reb, I'm so glad you're joining me. Well first I am having lunch and puttin in laundry then I am gonna demousify something. I made myself peek in one of the drawers yesterday so mebbe I will just dump the whole drawer into the sink. And to make myself feel better I am gonna write "MOUSE GLOVES" on one pair of my rubber gloves, first!

I try to pretend that it's not as bad as it really is. Like, if I was at the beach right now and saw a pretty shell, I'd take it home. But how do I know some animal didn't pee on it? I also take home driftwood I find at the river, but that could've been peed on too. Or nice rocks - I've got to balance my fear of mouse excrement with the reality that I'm sure I've handled *many* messes without even knowing it.

I don't get my squeamishness either. I clean up cat litter and I pick up dog poop all the time.
But mice....EWWWW!

And even weirder I now realize I used to have a hamster, so what's the difference?

I know, eh? I have pet rats. That's the thing though, I think this nest behind my bed was from a wild rat - or more likely, a loose domestic rat. Oh man oh man, I need to just get to it.

For the ppl on here with slat blinds.
There is a rig you can buy for $2 at the dollar store with microfibre. You can a couple of slats squished separately without even taking them down by damping the microfibre and squishing the slat between the fabric.
I can't quite describe it but I used them at my last place. You should be able to see them via google.
