Hello, everyone! UdderChaos seems to be offline today. She did say she'll accept help with these challenges. So, I'm gonna offer today's challenge: CHOOSE Choose to vote. Choose to find your ballot place. Choose to get to voting booth on time or choose to mail ballot before postmark deadline. Choose to make Planet Earth a better place. Vote. Desqualoring:Choose to find your paperwork. Choose to throw something away. Choose to clean something. Choose to eliminate a frustrating activity from your schedule. Choose to make your residence into a HOME. Choose to make your life better. -

- Squalorina Lioness, trying to vote:- Dumped out 5 boxes, looking for my absentee ballot. Ballot not found.
- Went through squalorous car, looking for my ballot.
Ballot not found. Found reading materials describing various candidates on national and local levels. Found reading materials regarding various referendums.
- Sorted through several POISOTD (Piles Of Important Stuff On The Desk). Ballot not found.
- Went through one more box.
Ballot Found !!!!!
- Next: Read and vote.
--- UPDATE:- Read through all the candidates and referendums.
- researched online some of the issues/people I was confused about.
- filled out my absentee ballot correctly.
-
- Next: read and follow instructions about what to sign and how to seal and enclose one envelope within another, to guarantee my vote to be valid yet anonymous. (very complicated, must do methodically).
- Find out correct amount of postage. (some ballots in some states require TWO stamps). (I know it's crazy but true). I will phone the elections office to verify proper method for mailing.
MAKE SURE I GET IT POSTMARKED TODAY.
- UPDATING AGAIN:- My pen ran out as I was about to sign.
Hunted through home and couldn't find another pen! Stupid Squalor.
- Decided to DRIVE to special drop-off location at the elections office -- they will have a pen ! and I can officially sign and deliver my ballot there.
- FINAL UPDATE: - Drove to elections office, signed ballot, turned in ballot!
I voted !!!!!!!
- Returned home.
- Bonus: Threw away the stupid pen that doesn't work!
- Bonus: Recycled all the elections literature!
Woo Hoo! I finished two hours before the deadline. Yay! very happy lioness. I am glad I CHOSE to persevere, despite my squalor!
Desqualoring: Choose to find your paperwork. Choose to throw something away. Choose to clean something. Choose to eliminate a frustrating activity from your schedule. Choose to make your residence into a HOME. Choose to make your life better. All of the rest of you just typed a single line. "I voted". But for me it was a huge task, due to my squalor. No more. I hereby CHOOSE to create a file folder RIGHT NOW -- -- a file folder labeled "VOTE"I will put this empty file folder in the back of my file cabinet right now. The next time there's a local, regional, or national election, I will IMMEDIATELY put all the campaign literature, the official election infomation and my BALLOT in that folder !!!!!!! Yes! I'm making that folder right NOW. It is now empty. But it will be ready for the next election. No more crazy days like today, hunting for information. - And then, I'll CHOOSE to wash some dishes. =

Thank you, Lioness.
I voted early (was home by 6:20).
Now I choose to go finish up my porch cleaning project.

Choose....hmmm.
I choose the following to make my life better:
I choose to be happy in spite of all the negative irritating people I have had to deal with today.
I choose to forgive the man who took out his frustration about his situation on me.

Yep; I voted, and I made lots and lots of choices in the process. (We had a LONG ballot with lots of local stuff in addition to the presidential election.
Arid, Jr. called us long-distance to make sure that our household voted before the polls close here. That made our day!

Amazing, I just posted on my empting out my closet!
I choose to empty out my entire closet and make a list of everything that was in that little tiny space of a hole! Crud! I don't think I modified the post...I'll have to retype!

So, this was Tuesday.
Yes, I chose to vote.
More importantly, I chose to TAKE ACTION on an issue with which I have been procrastinating. It took me very little time (relative to how long I've been procrastinatin). I chose to buckle down and compile several pages of notes into a one-page document and FAX that, along with some supporting documents to my Tax accountant. I chose to persevere rather than give up when the FAX machine resisted my efforts and jammed twice.
So that part of the TAKING ACTION is done. The whole thing is not yet done, but I have done a very important step. This was on Tuesday.

tuesday was a delightfully delirious day. I chose to vote! I am so happy about voting, the elections people grin at me. I chose who to vote for. For whom to vote. I chose not to vote for unopposed judges on ballot. I chose not to vote no on proposition I don't agree with, but voting no seemed gratuitously mean. I chose to meditate. I chose to do a lesson. I chose to go to the gym, for a medium amount of time. When the noise level and attentiveness in the local establishments was non-conducive, I chose to go home and hear the results on the radio. Yay!!!!!!! (Was that the day i chose to call my long-ago friend on the phone from the computer store? that made me feel very good. i miss having a real friend to talk to. To whom you can say what is true.
