Hi Diane, sorry that you just keep going around in circles with your SS/ID issues. How frustrating to have spent all that time to visit the office & wait, to get no advice.
Do you have a citizens/community legal advice service that you could ask what to do in this situation? I am wondering if some free or low cost legal advice would be able to suggest how best to proceed & negotiate the situation.
Cyn, yes, I have learnt the hard way that it is possible to do too much shredding at one time, so please take Diane's advice and intersperse the shredding with other activities.

All hating posting again when I have not taken the time to read back and review what each of you have done. Update I have made 2 scarfs this week for a total of 5 for the month of January. I do not even think I made 5 all year last year. I also started another one today during my regroup -- down time -- Red for next month. I made homemade cookies on Sunday. Well sort of homemade. A yellow cake mix, 1 bag of mini chocolate chips, 5 tbs of butter and 1 or 2 eggs I can not remember. Baked in a 13x9 inch pan for 20 mins. They are really really good. DS and DD loved them. The goal for DDs room for the month of January has almost been met. I need to deal with her socks, a final purge and organizing of her closet, I need to repurge a drawer, and pack up summer shorts. The goal for the Master Bedroom for the month of January has been met. I have 5 more drawers in the kitchen to purge and Kitchen goal will have been met. ONWARD to doing more.

Was able to scan and put in recycling 100 papers today plus went thru my clothes again and found 30 more items that I will donate tomorrow. I also went thru and was able to at least wash all the blankets for my boys and I plus the sheets for older ds today. I ate 2 meals today and washed the dishes as soon as I was done with them afterwards. I also did the exercises my doctor said would help but don't seem to be helping at this point. Tomorrow both boys have a 2 hour delay so my parents said they will get them off so I can go to my appointment. With taxes being finished that is one less thing for me to have to worry about.

Thanks for the heads-up on possibly destroying my shredder. Whoops, that would've sucked! I guess I'll have *no choice* but to shred/sort/shred/sort...

Did some more work in my office yesterday. Today is the day I officially take my shredder out of the box!! This seems to be a common issue - raise your hand if you have a shredder and are letting it "rest" in its original packaging!! Went to the office supply store and got all the things for my file storage and work space. Hopefully will finish the office today and then can work on some tax deadlines. Good luck everyone!! PC

I just officially broke in my shredder, and started towards my goal: 7 old bills are gone! Thanks PC, for the gentle push. And all the shredder's packaging is going out today too. Wow!

I just officially broke in my shredder,
I read this line quickly and thought it said you broke your shredder. I thought--but we WARNED you!
I'm glad you have started, and glad it made you happy!

It made me *so* happy that I grabbed the pile of old employee statements that were sitting in my bedroom and destroy those as well! Wheee!

I should be working but had to quickly log in and report that my shredder is officially out of the box and officially DOA - deceased - expired = funeral later today This is an office quality shredder - takes 12 sheets at a time. Instruction book said to call the 800 number before returning to store. Glad I did. Tech support walked me through everything because there are special lock out keys and features. But still dead- deceased - expired. Apparently it is too late to exchange at Staples (Staples brand) so I just need to mail them the label from the back of the shredder and give them the tracking number - will ship me out a new one today. The shredder itself I can take to Staples for recycling. Or add to the pick-up at the house. This thing is so heavy that I pinched my fingers - OUCH - putting it on the bin part and was not looking forward to repacking it and returning it. Not to mention carrying the replacement from the store and back to the house. So no shredding until the new one arrives. Glad this thread came up and forced me to check it out. Can't believe that Staples only has a 14 day return policy - need to review my receipt and see if that is accurate. But their warranty/tech support rocks!! PC

That's too bad about your shredder, PC. But how nice that a new one's on its way. Did you ever oil yours? I'm wondering, because that topic came up in another thread today - and long story short, I bought some oil for mine this afternoon. In fact, once I bothered to read the instruction manual, it said that it extends the life of the machine. Huh, who knew? Except my great friend irisheyes, who gave me the heads-up. And probably saved my poor little shredder. Wait 'till it sees all those bags and boxes of paperwork I've been unearthing lately!

In the last few days, between donating books and listing some, I have emptied another 2 boxes from my LR. So, 3 out of the 10 are now gone. At least SOMETHING is happening towards my goals. Diane
