My dishes are washed and air-drying on a wooden rack. I love my dishes (blue & white) and they look pretty on the rack.

wtg cleanbee and papermoon
There has been much been written elsewhere by people with negative thoughts and 'feelings' about washing up. It is possible to put a thought in your mind, to change a thought. I love meal prep is possible when there aren't dirty dishes and pots everywhere. Less to wash up is so much easier than lots. I have to love that.
For newbies looking in. A reminder - Every step helps. Count your successes.
Herding dishes towards the sink. Scraping where needed. Rinsing if needed. Stacking into the dishwasher, or in helpful heaps for easier washing in a sink (I find it easier to begin if plates and bowls are stacked like with like, rather than spread as far as possible.) Washing a load. Emptying the dish drainer or dishwashers so the process can begin again to support life into the future. Every load helps. You don't need to be caught up to post here. If you have a back log - You will be catching up if you can process whatever is used today, plus a little more, and do that every day. (or as often as it takes you to create a load.)

Nice post wynken
I just loaded the dw as I was waiting for my bath to fill. After my bath i'm gonna wash the bean pot and a few other stray items and finish defending the drainer.

I am so easily unhinged, and then have so much trouble then remembering to do the normal things of living ... Anyway. My dishes from yesterday still wait. No dinner things, as I didn't have any, nor breakfast today. I may led go of the internet when my contract is up, as one less distraction to establishing a healthy lifestyle and good habits. Truly, I've had better habits before, though I know its wrong to blame others for my reactions. Still, that doesn't mean I don't want to limit my exposure to it all. I'm not sure if that is for the best or not, but something has to give. Wishing those who post here all the best. Thank you cleanbee. Congratulations papermoon on your year long journey.

I'm not quite to the finish line yet, wynken. Tonight's dinner dishes have yet to be dirtied and washed. I'll come back to post when it's "official" So sorry to hear your frustration with Internet life. It's probably the biggest time-suck of our modern age. I wonder what hindsight 10 years from now will show us. But I know what how you feel, to just want to chuck it out the window. Have you ever tried RescueTime? It really helps. If you're interested, I'll PM you the link. It's free.

Now it's official... just a few minutes past midnight. The dishes are washed and the sink is shined. That makes one full year of daily dish-washing, thanks to the power of this thread and especially thanks to the awe-inspiring Arid. I was so lucky to have joined the forum and this thread just shortly before you posted your one-year achievement, Arid... you were the perfect role model. I'd like to keep posting and to mark off the months on my way toward the two-year mark. It's such a seemingly banal but wonderful thing, to have a clean empty sink shining at me every morning before breakfast and again every evening at dinnertime. Who knew.
